is baltar moses?….like if hes the new dying leader that will never reach the promise land across the desert of space…and he was a poor boy from aerolon that pretended to be a memember of the upperclass….also…Roslin is going psycho-badass! scary…very scary! that scene with drunk adama was great!…seeing Tory giving it up to baltar while crying was…odd…what shes going to do now is going tobe interestng to see….

oh and anyone else laugh their asses off at baltar-head baltar….thats baltar squared! great stuff….i wonder if baltar will seduce baltar….if infact baltar is the new head six…..

  2. Tootie Says:

    Well….
I loved the sentient centurions – YEEHAH! Will the downloading of the dead models be prevented? Will the cylons destroy themselves? Will different factions go onto different basestars? Hmmmmmmmm.

I hated the fight between Roslin and Adama. He was in a bad mood, yes, and drunk, but he was mean. I liked him the least I ever have (and that says a lot because I love the character!). She was tired of Starbuck and doesn’t have the history with her, yes, but was not sensitive to his history with her. I hope they make up. SOON. They were like a bitter old unhappily married couple – nasty.

Great twist with Starbuck going away. Loved it. Will she be able to ‘take notes’ and return and find the fleet again? How will she find the fleet if it keeps jumping? Will her new ship return all shiny and new (haha)? Who is going with her?

I liked the good-bye between Lee and Dee. She’s sad but moving on and firm about it. I think he still has much more feeling for her than vice versa. ‘You got the house’ is a classic line. Wow. (Ranks up there with ‘Kara Thrace and her special destiny…sound more like a bad cover band Sam.’)

Lee leaving the service is interesting and very logical. Yes, it makes perfect sense because of what he said at the end of Baltar’s trial – that he was a coward by leaving New Caprica and not wanting to return (although I think part of it was he never wanted to see Kara or Sam again) and his brush with death out in space etc. etc. The military wasn’t working for him on many levels (although I think it did on many others – he enjoyed being CAG) with the constant power struggles with his father, the extreme stress and risk of dying every day, the hard choices you have to make with people you care about. But where will a role in gov. lead? Will he take over as president before they reach Earth, after Roslin dies of cancer and Zarek is somehow killed? Maybe. It would be the answer to Baltar’s question to Chief in ‘Dirty Hands’ about whether someone other than an Adama will ever lead this fleet…

The good-bye with Kara was hard to watch. They are so disconnected and they hardly know each other anymore. How do you start over when she was dead and you grieved her so hard for two months and now she’s back? She is still married to Sam too.
I think Lee also left the service because he can’t deal with being around Kara anymore. He just can’t do it anymore. He’s leaving her behind. He’s also leaving Dee behind because who wants to deal with an ex-wife who dumped you on a daily basis? No one.

I am glad our four new cylons are laying low and just being themselves. It would have crushed me if they’d have started getting weird and sabotaging the ship or something. (Will one of them secretly start sabotaging things though, in future?) I like their secret meetings. We are getting the message that there truly is no difference between humans and cylons on many levels.

My bet for the final cylon is still Adama…Zeus (see previous post under Razor -hybrid’s prophesy). What he will do with this will be interesting.

And…another final question is what will Earth be like? (Why did Kara say she’d smelled it etc. and she swears she’s been there before when she was in orbit only?????) Will it be full of cylons and humans? Only humans?

What the hell is Head Baltar doing talking to Baltar? Where is Head 6?????????????????????? That is freaking me out. (And lose the pinstripe suit buddy!)

    That’s all for now! Tootie

  3. Graham Zediker Says:

There has been a lot of dialog in the first several episodes that have been overexploring too many things. Hopefully, we can start to get some action events soon.

I was wondering if anyone tried to analyze the words of the hybrid on the base star. Two dimensions will allow for faster evolution (or something like that)…and then she mentioned that the final five…will not harm their own. I think this passage relates to Tyrol’s offspring and how the mixture of cylon and human will lead to a greater evolutionary track.

Kudos to show for introducing Head-Baltar. Two Gaius characters in one scene is awesome. He should talk to Caprica six while she and he both have head-Baltars, so that there will be three Gaius characters in one scene.

Does anyone think that Gaius will have head-Baltar and head-Six interact onscreen? (for the real Gaius)

Will Caprica Six have a head-Six?

  4. Sam Kellie Says:

I didn’t like that Roslin tried to shot Starbuck; it doesn’t seem like something she would do. I’m also tired of Starbuck saying that they are going the wrong way, it’s getting old. Roslin didn’t seem like herself this week; I guess she’s just drugged. I didn’t like the Adama Roslin fight either, It was lame and Adama was drunk. I did very much enjoy head Balter, that was cool, more Balter! I’m also refusing to believe that Adama or Roslin are Cylons, I still think its Starbuck. And I personally think that Adama is letting Kara go find Earth because he’s trying to prove to Kara that he is not Roslin’s “wet nurse”. I think this ep. was better than last week’s, but, both were good.

    -Sam

  5. JDR Says:

Real quick and to the point,

Who the frak cares this much about Lee. They spent way to much time on his big farewell. Cool Cylon stuff and “head” Baltar though…………

  6. David Says:

I actually liked the Roslin-Adama fight, I thought it was two top-notch actors, lighting each other up. Also i think it represents the progression these two characters have made; their able to say anything they want to each other, without having to calculate what they say before hand.

What was more intriguing was the “pandora’s box” the 2’s, 6’s and 8’s unleashed. I really think the Cylon caste system (Humanoid cylons on top, the hybrids, then raiders, with the centurions on the bottom) has been completely flipped on its head.

baltar’s head baltar was also kind of an eye brow raiser (is he just getting nuttier, or is there something to this?)

  7. Zlaid Says:

Centurions seem to be taking over, and since they’re the ones w/ build-in firearms, I’m hoping they take complete control.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the models become outcast. I also wouldn’t mind listening to them speak about what they think should be done.
I didn’t know that their actions were being suppressed. A race of intellectual beings, gifted with reason, should have the same rights as everyone else; i think they deserved a vote along with the models.

They seem to be more spiritually linked to the final 5 than the model’s logical theories.

  8. Nick Says:

I am 100% sure now that Baltar is Christ, or at the very least the Cylon Christ. He actually seems to be fully converted to the Cylon belief, is preaching a version that seems different from the standard Cylon version of the religion (in the same was early Christian teaching differed from Jewish versions), and seems much more compassionate (helping the kid).

Which also ties into Starbuck. If Baltar is Christ, Starbuck is the Antichrist. I honestly believe she will lead them to Earth, eventually, and I also believe she will be the harbinger of the end of the human race. Hear me out. If the prophecies are true, which they appear to be, then there are humans on Earth. The fleet is only a small small percentage of humanity. If they die, humanity lives on via Earth. My theory is Starbuck leads the fleet to Earth, but due to the fleet’s arrival (and most assuredly the Cylons following them) leads the complete eradication of Earth Humans and the fleet, effectively wiping out all of humanity.

And it looks like everyone’s Head characters are BSG’s version of the Metatron, or the Voice of God (see Alan Rickman in Dogma). They claim to be angels, they appear to know all, and they convey a message from a seemingly omnipotent being. It is merely the Metatron taking on different forms.

Also, what if when Cavill gets downloaded into a new body he wakes up and is immediately shot by Centurions. Imagine an endless cycle of that. It would be utterly brilliant.

I’ve got to say, I’m happy Adama gave Starbuck a ship. Not because I believe her or anything. I’m just sick of her yelling “We’re going the wrong way!”

And finally, Tigh and Co. just need to tell Adama that they’re Cylons. Adama isn’t going to kill them on sight. He gave Athena a commision as an officer! If they go forward and tell now they won’t have to worry about being captured as conspirators or anything if they hide and are discovered. I’m surprised Tyrol and Anders are dumb enough to follow the crazy Tigh. Adama highly respects Tyrol, he just has to go forward and tell the truth!

  9. NeoBaltar Says:

I love how Baltar has lost is “Caprinican” accent – He’s speaking in his native, more guttural “Sagittaron” tongue. Amazing!
This season has transcended the SCIFI genre…this is by far the best character drama on television. The writing is intricate, the story telling is intoxicating, the pacing is spot on and the drama is emotionally engaging. This is ART at its finest. Pray to the GODS – after season 4 the production team and the writers can translate this onto the BIG SCREEN! FRAK YEAH!

  10. NeoBaltar Says:

Oops, I meant “Aerelon” accent. Does this mean that Baltar’s “truthiness” is coming out? Is Baltar finally being true to himself (and others)?

  11. Bishomti Says:

OK, Rosalyn was so High….all I kept thinking was in all her silence was she thinking…How do I tell Bill I smoke all of the Pot……

I think Adama was going to give her the Ship at the begining of the episode but he needed to move all the pot off of the ship because it was the only place where it would be safe from that stoner Rosalyn…

Speaking of Archetypes am I the only person that thinks there should be a stoner cylon and Rosalyn fits the bill perfectly?

  12. bishomti Says:

Sorry Adam Give Starbuck the ship…. I think it would be cool to discover that Bill Adama was the Cylon could hear the Music and just ignored it because he’s such a hard ass…or he was just too high because when you’ve got to keep up with Rosalyn and the chronic well well well…lol…

The scene between Rosalyn and Adam was meant to be gritty it was like Taylor and Burton in Who’s afraid of Virginia Wolf…They were good if that scene left you feeling all uncomfortalble then they earned their paychecks for that day.

I thought the Scene between Lee and Kara was touching…

  13. Adam Says:

First, let me say that I am torn. I understand that it is always better for a show to go out on it’s own terms, but God’s damn it I don’t have to like it. I truly hope that the story is left open enough that they can revisit it or add to it. “Caprica” sounds good on paper but it won’t be the same…on to this week’s episode.

The dialogue between Roslin and Adama was fantastic and it shows just how far they’ve come with one another. They have come full circle in that when they met each other they both thought they needed to stand on ceremony…now they put it all out there like an old couple. It will be VERY interesting to see where Adama’s actions with Kara leads their relationship.

It’s too early to tell what Kara is or isn’t. I’m fairly certain she isn’t a cylon. But again, I must see more to truly know where this is going. I believe that she will take Sam with her as a member of her team- that will be interesting if true. I’m dying to know what time frame she will find us in…

The unrest within the Cylon fleet is just fantastic. Six has more than met her own destiny as the original “voice” of the one God. I was wondering when the Centurions were going to be able to show their “metal.” LOL! If Scar could regenerate than I’m sure the Centurions can too. More that anything else right now I’m looking forward to how this unrest will play out. Are we about to see a few BaseStars duke it out? 120 nukes crossing each other in the stars…WOW! Cavil has been the unit all along with the most rogue tendancies. In a twist you will see Natalie ressurect DeAnna before too long and together they will “box” the cavil model. after all, if the Centurions and raiders are going to return to true sentiency, they won’t need Cavil.

Lee leaving the Galactica is awkward for me right now. I won’t feel differently until I see how he is used in his upcoming role in the Quorrum. Nice way they gave closure to him and Dee. The “you got the house” line was classic. What’s next for Dualla? I’ve always felt she was the silent major player here and I still feel that way.

Baltar continues to be my favorite character. Unimatably himself and dilussional at best, he excellently portrays a messiah that is entrenched in his new beliefs yet is still a pig at heart. What a contrast. Seeing the vision of himself now is fantastic. His new religiously eccentric side colliding with his man-pig self has made for the best acting I’ve seen in a long time. Callis is a true master of his trade. If they gave Oscars for TV acting, he would win hands down. He most assuredly has realized that he is the “dying leader” not Roslin.

Whose switch is gonna flip first? My guess will be Tori. She’s the most unstable of the four at this point and I believe she will be the demise of Roslin…not cancer. Yes, you heard me correctly. Everyone just assumes that when they hear Roslin say in the previews that she will be passing through this life that it will be cancer. I believe differently…Tori will take her out.

Anyone else notice how conspicuously absent the hybrid children are so far? I feel they definitely have a major role to play here this season.

Something to ponder that I don’t ever see anyone else elude to…when Adama is on the original hybrid ship in Razor, he attempts to free the prisoners. When I slow it down and really study it I’m convinced that we see Leoben and Six through the crack in the door. I truly believe Adama is the final model. “Husker” stumbled onto the original experiment. Combined with the fact that he sees his own “visions” on the ship I am further convinced that Adama was somehow cloned before escaping. That is why the final Cylon is hidden form the other 11…Adama was the only model whose “pattern” wasn’t destroyed or controlled…anyone else care to comment?

  14. Tootie Says:

Well, to answer the most recent post above, I agree the final cylon is Adama – with Lee also a possibility. There are no other reasonable alternatives.
After watching this episode again, I feel differently.
I saw Kara through Roslin’s eyes – as a brainwashed agent of the cylons who will lead them into a trap. A perfect agent. It’s hard to see her any other way once you start seeing her this way.
I feel differently about the scene between Roslin and Adama – I see it now as less unfriendly, more candor, more Adama feeling cruddy about Lee leaving the service. His ‘Nobody’s going anywhere’ was brilliant and the look on her face after he said that equally so. I do agree that it’s two top-notch actors portraying characters who can say anything to each other. And the bit with the hair coming out was a great touch. Reminds us that she IS ill and the iron lady has a heart, which we can forget. I liked the bit about the chances of her surviving were so small – it’s true, but so is the chance of so much that’s happened also mathmatically miniscule.

Tori taking out Roslin? Hmmmm. I would hate to lose Roslin in any way. I hope it’s all wrong about her being the dying leader and I hope she and Adama live happily ever after in a cabin by the stream, with Lee and Kara next door all happy, with Tighe as the happy uncle of all the kiddies running around, hahahaha….with fields of weed enough for all.

Ahem, back to serious BSG analysis. What do we know for sure?
    1) D’Anna will be brought out of cold storage to join the 6’s. (This will begin a new storyline, because she knows who most of the five are, if not all)
    2) Some or all of the four will reveal themselves soon due to D’Anna identifying them or they themselves coming forward somehow. Roslin and Adama will be split in terms of their reaction to this and the fleet also. Roslin wanting them dead, Adama accepting it.
    3) The cylon civil war will deepen…the gloves are off and can’t ever be put on again. It is interesting to think about the possibility of some of the models led by Cavil going off and calling an armistice…and history would repeat itself when someday they came back.
    4) ? Anyone?

Someone else has stated that it makes sense that they will find an Earth where the Romans are in charge with their gods and then the one God is worshipped by some….with Baltar entering the picture as a Christ figure (chosen one who will suffer for all their sins, human and cylon). This would be logical, but the only problem is this: sometime in Earth’s past (earlier than Roman times), they had space-faring capabilities – so what happened there??? Kobol is the planet they all left from, remember. Anyone???

Anyway, as far as season 4 goes, I want all 20 remaining episodes NOW! RIGHT NOW to watch straight through all day tomorrow. I just know they are going to show us half this spring and the other half next fall – AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

    Anyway, I’m lovin’ it!
    Tootie

  15. Benji Says:

    Here’s my current theory:

Once upon a time, there were humans living among 12 “gods” who were beings that were vastly intelligent, psychic, and quite possibly immortal. They all lived on Kobol. The humans worshiped the gods of kobol and the gods of kobol worshiped a one true god.

Everybody left Kobol, 12 colonies went one way to Caprica and surrounding planets, and the 13th and the gods went one or more ways.

Thousands and thousands of years later, the colonials build mechanical cylons. Before the first war, 5 of the gods integrated themselves into the human society but somehow reprogrammed themselves to not be aware of their nature. They are the final 5

The mechanical cylons rebelled and the war ensued. In the 40 years betwean the war and the attack, the other 7 of the gods met up with the mechanical cylons and tought the machines advance to the biological, tought them to make millions of copies of the 7 gods, upgraded the centurions, and reprogrammed everyone. They also made raiders that were incapable of harming any of the gods. So the 7 cylon models are made in the image of the gods are programed to be unaware of their origins, but also to seak out the remaining 5 gods when the time came. the gods are the original programmers.

hybrids are human/machine mixes, highly prone to visions induced by the gods

Head 6 is one of the original gods, so is head baltar while normal baltar is the reprogrammed god.
Raiders can kill cylon copies, but not one of the original gods, which anders is, so when it realized, it pulled back.
The original god that leobin was modeled from saved cara and took her to the nebula.
All of the visions from everyone are results of one or more of the original gods’ psychic powers.

Calling the final 5 “cylons” is just terminology because by backward logic, the cylons are made from 7 of the gods, making those 7 cylons, making all the gods cylons.

the gods somehow intervened with humanity so they dont kill themselves with robots because they saw it coming. they maybe knew that many had to die to save a few

when they get to earth, i say they will find the humans dead by the hands of robots that the 13th colony built and got killed by because the gods were not there to protect them

  16. Adam Says:

Tootie brings up a number of good counterpoints…

Most intriguing is how the cycle will get to a point of repitition…”all of this has happened before, and it will happen again…” Are the colonials and the cylons really stuck in an elliptical continuum? Reversing roles as each lifetime unfolds over a few millenia? Never really thought of the true depth of the cycle…deep, very, VERY deep.

Benji, I think I see what you’re getting at but wow you fit a lot into just a few paragraphs…LOL! I’m not sure I can subscribe to the depth of your thoughts about the Gods until I see more, still it does bring into light some out of the box thoughts of how this will all end.

Matt/Nat I would really like to hear your takes on this so far….

  17. MAJIK Says:

THIS IS A RE-POST FROM A WEEK AGO, BUT HERE IT IS, A THEORY ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN, ALTHOUGH NOT SPECIFICLY ABOUT THE HYBRID PROPHECY. WHAT IF WHEN THEY FINALLY REACH EARTH, HOW EVER MANY OF THEM ACTUALLY MAKE IT THERE, THEY ARRIVE AT THE TIME OF JESUS. WHAT IF BALTAR IS THE BASIS FOR JESUS. WHETHER OR NOT HE ACTUALLY MAKES IT TO EARTH, HE COULD BE THE BASIS, STORIES PASSED ON ABOUT HIM, AND THE THINGS HE COULD DO, WHICH TO THE PEOPLE OF THAT TIME WOULD SEEM MIRACULOUS, THE THINGS HE HAS BEEN PUT THROUGH, BEING TORTURED BY THE COLONIALS, WOULD BE PASSED ON, AND BECOME A RELIGION, REMEMBER THAT, AT THE TIME JESUS WAS AROUND THE ROMANS RULED PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING, AND HAD FOR QUITE AWHILE, THEY WERE THE NEXT GREAT POWER AFTER THE GREEKS, WHICH WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THEIR BELIEFS IN THE GODS FROM OBVIOUSLY COMING FROM THE 12 COLONIES BEFORE SETTLING ON EARTH. THE ROMAN GODS ARE ALL JUST VARIATIONS ON THE GREEK GODS. THEN HERE COMES BALTAR, OR AT LEAST THE STORIES ABOUT HIM, AND HE SPEAKS OF ONE TRUE GOD, (THANKS TO SIX) “THE” GOD. THE NEXT THING THING YOU KNOW THE WORLD HAS A NEW RELIGION, CHRISTIANITY. JUST A THOUGHT.

  18. hhaller Says:

Just stumbled on your site and it is a great discovery.
I had a revelation this week that is making my head hurt. Like one of those hidden picture puzzles, I was reading a forum somewhere and in the periphery of my vision was the Battlestar Colonial Fleet emblem. Because I was not focusing on it, I immediately saw it was the Eye of Jupiter encircling a Cylon Raider (or so i think).
I think this is something that has surely been discussed at some point but I can’t find any but one article referencing it. So what are the thoughts of those who are on here regularly regarding this symbolism?
    Thanks for a great site.
BTW don’t know is this is allowed but the article I found is pretty interesting. It’s about some of the symbolism, consciousness , and synchronicity on the show: thethoughts.co.uk/thoughts/battlestar-galactica/

  19. Carrie Says:

When Kara told Adama that he is “Roslin’s wet nurse” I laughed because I thought it was so true. In a later screen it was proven because when Roslin told him to sit he sat. I thought it was so sweet that Lee believes her because having one person believe you out of so many can mean awhole lot.

It is going to be funny when Kara and her crew comes back with the location of earth and sticks it in Roslin’s face, especially after Roslin shooting at her.

  20. Tootie Says:

Wow, thanks for the link to that article hhaller!
I never looked at the fleet emblem really until now and it does look like the eye of Jupiter on the outside, but I think it could easily be argued that the inner image is an angel motif – an angel (human or cylon) with multi-layered wings. Looks more like that than a raider.
    INTERESTING!

Awesome new interview with Moore and Eick about Battlestar: legalities, morality, government, military, torture etc. as they relate to our post-911 world. AWESOME!

  22. hhaller Says:

    Your welcome, Tootie
I’ve never posted on sites so I was afraid people would think I was an idiot for not seeing this previously. Just glancing at the emblem, I’ve always thought it looked like an insect (which makes no sense) or bird and your view of an angel is very appropriate to the series. But seeing it on the edges of my vision, the Raider just popped out. I immediately counted the legs/wings, thinking there would be twelve, but there are only five on each side (or four plus the Raider wings). So I’m trying to understand the symbolism if my view is correct.
Hmm… eight Cylons plus our four on the Galactica – that doesn’t fit into in Five in the Temple – Seriously, you could go nuts trying to figure everything out.
Glad you enjoyed the article. Looking forward to reading your link.
Don’t know if I’ll post very often as I’m more student than teacher but I certainly appreciate yours.
    hhaller

  23. JAY Says:

HHALLER, were do u get 8 cylons and the final 5 ? but sumthing that know 1 has realsed is 1 of the final 5 s fact the 7th model, in my veiw i think that the final 1 is the 7th model….. also i thnk that only D’ANNA will only come back than her atter model and like the hybrid in razor said “enemes will be carried on the wings of angel to the promis land. ” or sumthnig like that

And aslo did ADAMA and the ROSLIN look like an married couple?

  24. hhaller Says:

    To Jay,
I was only trying to figure out the number of wings/feathers (or whatever they are) in the Colonial Fleet emblem. If there is a symbolic Raider on that seal then I thought there would be 12 attached – not the case. If you discount the 2 on the Raider, there are 8 remaining. And from there I was just thinking out loud that maybe they represented the 7 known plus one unknown Cylon. And then there are our 4 on Galactica. So who are they? And that idea does not gel at all with the five previously unknown in the Temple. A confusing mishmash because I’m confused by what I might be seeing on the seal.

It wasn’t any kind of theory. I thought I was way behind on the emblem symbols and wanted to know what might have been said about it previously. When I tried to check it out online, the only mention was in the one article I spoke of in my first post. It has pics of the seal and a Raider side by side, which helps with what I’m seeing. And even he did not mention the Eye of Jupiter, which really seems obvious to me now.

I’m probably way off on this but if anyone has read anything on it before, I’d really like to know about the emblem’s meaning.

P.S. Adama and Roslin – well, they argued like a married couple but that’s about all I know about that – ha!

  25. JAY Says:

    TO HHALLER

i thnk that the emblem symbols is in fact an angel and did the hyrid say “then they will join the promised land, gathered on the wings of an Angel. Not an end, but a beginning.”

also what i mint was the actors playing ADAMA and ROSLIN was like they were playing it like a married couple

  26. Alice Says:

Hey guys we in the UK just got the first two epsiodes the other night and oh my gods!

Firstly what the frak is with Roslin she was sooo well moody and mean but a strange turn for that character.

So a couple of things really now the Cylons well Six thinks they can feel the final 5 – Six thinks she can feel them but she can’t really. Maybe as shes programed not to think about them she thinks she can feel them when she can’t.
Also look at Sharon she walked right over to Anders and Cheif and didn’t even click on.

Also now we know man created the Cylons, how about if the ‘humans’ on Earth created them

And another thing, the number 12 – now look at this number – 12 Cylon models – 12 Gods – 12 Colonies

maybe the 12 models are the new gods being they have 12 planets and gods but see they have a 13th being Earth, but just somethimg that popped into my head.

So maybe these 12 models are like new leaders for each clan/colony?

And Kara what the hell is she and this pain in her head when they jump away, I did love the part when she knokced down those marines and went to Roslin and held that gun to her excllent part.

But next weeks preview oh man is Tori going evil like Cylon evil or just lost it??? Just looking at the clips with her and Cally really.

  27. frakkin old person Says:

I just wanted to comment on the name “Natalie”. I watch BSG with the closed captioning on because I am an old frakkin’ lady with some hearing loss. The CC referred to the Shootin’ Cylon Six as “Natalie”. I had already read that she was going to be called Natalie due to the fact that I am an old lady with too much time on my hands and read everything I can about this show, which I think, BTW, is the best SF show in the history of TV and I was 15 when the first Star Trek aired and never missed an episode. Anyhow.. ( was that a long run- on sentence or what?).. I was surprised when I did see the CC refer to Natalie as I thought” wait…they’ve never actually called her that, have they?”.

It does look to me that Roslin has had some work done. Mary Mc Donnell is so beautiful that it seemed unnecessary to me. But what do I know? Were I a much wealthier frakkin’ old person I might consider having some done myself. She is a year younger than I am.

I love your BSG casts and you two are adorable and do a great job. Thanks!

  28. Tootie Says:

Hi frakking person from above! Great post…Natalie has not been officially named yet, I agree. They don’t want to make it obvious I think.

I don’t think she’s had work done. I think she just isn’t wearing her glasses. She’s supposed to look different and act differently of late because she’s very ill….is everyone forgetting this???
Her belief that Kara represents some kind of ambush or trap is completely justified and logical and normal. If you re-watch the last two episodes, especially season 4, ep 1, from that perspective, Kara is coming across so much as a cylon trap it’s unbelievable.

Can’t wait for tomorrow night. I can’t watch the preview on scifi.com (says ‘This video is not available in your area’ – WTF???)

    Tootie

ps. I agree Matt and Nat are adorable – great word!

  29. Ryan (Stiff Jimmy) Keeton Says:

    1. I agree with Matt that the Head People (Baltar, Six and Leoben) are indeed the creatures of light. I also think that Leoben might be the embodiment of Count Iblis from the first series. After all, the devil is the smoothest talker and the most seductive. This would also be why “Kara Thrace will lead the human race to it’s end.”

    2. Baltar is a MAD FRAKIN PIMP! That dude could get Mother Theresa to act like a cheap stripper!! Seriously man, the whole “You have an abundance of emotion” line… absolutely sweet! That is a TRUE pimp right there! Anyone who can take something bad and turn it into something good is awesome!

    3. My fave line from this Episode was when Adama stuck it to Roslin by saying “You can live in my room but getout of my head.”

  30. Sithpenguinlord Says:

They told us that Doral was #5 in the episode Downloaded so that means that Simon is #4.

  31. Adalla Says:

First of all, I must start from the most ridiculous part of Episode 404.

If Kara does find Earth….how in name of the Gods will she ever be able to find the Colonial Fleet again and tell them in any logical way? I mean, of course Kara came back from the dead, so at this point logic goes down the drain, and we must assume that she could just teleport and appear with her entire ship and crew back to the Galactica…but these teleportations and magic is starting to get old…after all Battlestar Galactica is so great, because it is so realistic.

Ok, now back to the episode:

    The Cylon Insurrection:

This confirms that yet again the Hybrid Prophecy is true. We are coming to the point where nearly the entire prophecy has come true. The hybrid said that the Seven, now Six, who consider themsleves perfect and without sin, are not experiencing the suffering of one splintering into many. One being the fact that until now, the Cylons have always been on the same side, all one big happy democratic family (well except for the boxing of Three).

So we see the splintering that the Hybrid prophecized. The 1s, 4s and 5s on the side of tradition, the 2s, 6s and 8s (some of em ;) ) on the side of freedom of will and evolution. We not only see the Seven models starting to think differently, we see members of the same model think differently! Eights dont think alike anymore. What does all of this mean? It supports the theme that Cylons and Humans are not that different. That cylons after all do have unique identities and are not all just copies of the same thing. To futher support this, is the fact that the Raiders and Centurions now have free will. So you see, the Cylons are going from a Borg-like society controlled centrally, to a human-like society where each life form is master of their own destiny. This, will make it easier for Cylons and Humans to make peace and integrate, and give birth to the next generation like Hera and the other hybrid baby I cant remember the name of.

    Roslin:

Why did she shoot Kara? That’s not like her. Why is she not listening to Kara? Why is she seeming like a dictator and not fair and just diplomat that we thought she was. I think the writers are doing this on purpose. They have something in store for Roslin, not quite sure what it is, but I belive one of their bullet points on their agenda was “Alienate Roslin from the audience”, and they are doing a fine job, because we all hate her right now.

    Admiral Adama:

Torn between Roslin and Kara. I’m glad that he did not believe Kara right away, and worked his way to that point after some struggle. I do NOT think he’s the Final Cylon. I’d be very disappointed if he turns out to be the finaly cylon. He’s meant to be the human leader that always fights for the survival of the human race. If the top warrior for the fight for the survival of the human race is a Cylon…the whole thing would look like a big joke.

    Lee Adama:

I’m pleased to see Lee move on. Kara is not a pilot anymore. Kat is dead. The old pilot family is gone, everything has changed, so it’s very logical for Lee to move on. Lee has always been as human as anyone could possibly be, so I’m 99% sure Lee is not a cylon. Again, if he were, it’d disappoint me even more than his father being a cylon. He has always been the voice of rightousness and justice in the show. He’s basically represents the most glorious characteristics of human beings. With an incredibly strong inner conscience, inner voice telling him right for wrong, and always fighting for what he things is right. It only makes sense that as a senior government official, all this can influence humanity more than him being a pilot, and he admits this himself. I forsee that Lee will become President of the 12 Colonies, that’s his destiny that he feels himself.

Now, was the cerimony a bit overdone and too long? yes. Very much so, it was great, but could have been a lot shorter and made the same impact.

    Cavil:

I had to have a line dedicated to this guy. I have realized Cavil has become one of my favorite characters as far as his attitude and humor. He cracks me up so much that I cant get enough of him. I so wish we had gotten to know him a lot earlier, and gotten to see him in action a lot more. He’s humor is insanely funny and uplifting even in the darkest of times.

Ok, lets cut to the chase, to the “divine” characters :P

    Starbuck:

I still think she is not a Cylon, and here is why: The Final Five are meant to unite the Cylon and Humans. They are meant to try to evolve themselves and their race and not harm their own. Well, that means they wont harm either the Cylons or the Humans. The Final Five, are priests after all (Temple of Five anyone?) and priests dont want to harm people (or shouldnt want to). So that puts Starbuck out of the picture. Starbuck is an instrument of God/Gods. Now the Hybrid Prophecy states that the Seven, now Six will suffer but then be lead to the promised land on the wings of an angel. Now who else besides Starbuck knows where Earth is? no one. So she absolutely is the angel that the Hybrid Prophecy is talking of. Now why would Starbuck work for the Cylons? Well, the divine does not take parts usually, and perhaps it’s meant indirectly. Either way, I do believe that Starbuck is the Harbringer of death and herald of the apocalypse. Not necessarily because she is evil or anything, but simply because she is the only one who knows where Earth is, and of course, Earth is where the Cycle ends and a new one begins, and there is bound to be an apocalypse. And both humans and cylons will suffer terribly before they are united and evolve to the next stage.

So, to sum up, Kara is an Angel or messenger from God to lead both Cylons and Humans to Earth. However, at Earth and along the way…trouble awaits. I dont think she’s a Cylon. She MIGHT, just might be a Being of Light and/or one of the Lords of Kobol (Goddess Aurora). Her supernatural abilities are testament to this. However, an Angel could be bestowed with these abilities just the same, and the Hybrid says she is an Angel, and I belive the Hybrid :)

    Baltar and Head Baltar:

By far, my favorite character is Baltar. I also think that Baltar is the key to the ENTIRE series, and the ENTIRE cycle that the Colonial religion speaks of. Baltar is the single most important and influencial character in the entire series, I have no doubt about this. Baltar in a way, represents everything that is going on…with what is going on in his life, his own evolution, his own troubles.

I mean, there is no character in the show that has as great issues that he deals with. I mean, after all he feels responsible for the genocide of the human race! He is neithre welcome by Cylons nor Humans. Baltar really is the key to everything, and I belive it is through Baltar, that everything shall be revealed to us. When the biggest revelations in the show will happen, I’m positive it’ll revolve around Baltar and who he is.

Now for the first time we see Head Baltar appear to Baltar. And I have two theories on Head Baltar, and one of them will be proven wrong in the coming episodes.

a)Head Baltar is Baltar’s selfish ego, while Head Six represents the divine, self-lessness and God.

b)Head Baltar is the evolution and growth of Baltar. While before he had to imagine someone else as the messenger from God (Head Six), Baltar has now evolved spiritually (the whole save the kid thing) to the point where he does not need to see another character represent God, but rather, have himself represent God. So in this theory, Head Baltar is his higher self.

Now, whether we will ever see Head Six in Baltar’s head again, will determine which theory is wrong. If she ever does appear, then more than likely theory b is wrong.

I’m 95% convinced Baltar is the Final Cylon, mostly because of the line from the Hybrid Prophecy, that says the Fifth hungers for redemption and will get it through suffering…well no one int he entire show wants or needs more redemption than Baltar (Episdoe 403 actually literally showned Baltar asking for redemption in a way, by asking God to take his life instead of the kid, and admitting to all his sins). Also, no one has suffering as much as Baltar either. Some have come close, but no one has the genocide of the human race on their conscience, or being tortured by both sides, and being trusted by neither.

Last but not least…let me end with the most beautiful dialogue that supports the fact that Baltar is the Final Cylon:

    Courtesy of Battlestar Wiki:

    Gaius Baltar to Tory Foster:
Baltar: It seems that God has chosen me to, uh, sing his song.
    Foster: A song?
Baltar: Music? Did you say music?
    Foster: No.
Baltar: Yeah, you know, it’s funny. It’s a lot like that. It’s like the distant chaos of an orchestra tuning up, and then somebody waves a magic wand. And all of those notes start to slide into place. The grotesque, screeching cacophony becomes a single melody.

This is a glipse of the glorious and holy being that Baltar is. The Godly being that is so confident, all-knowing. A glipse…

How could you hear that dialogue and still say that Baltar is not the Final Cylon?

    ~Adalla

  32. JAY Says:

great show BSGCAST, but ther is 1 thing i want 2 say……BALTAR IS NOT A FRAKING CYLON!!!!!!!!!! MATT watch the mini-series that beginan this and u will c the cylon light giong up and down CAPICA SIX’s spine when she is giong down on BALTAR……. know this is getting a pit strange evem4 me, HEAD BALTAL !!!! what next a talking toster, but idnt ONE a great villian.

  33. Jason Says:

I have enjoyed the first two episodes immensely. I loved the fight between Laura and Bill. I was reminded of the scene from the movie Tombstone when Doc Holliday tells Johnny Ringo, ” Invino Veritas,” which means,”You tell the truth when you’re drunk.” I think Adama was simply doing that. Yes, he was harsh and perhaps it was uncalled for, but, it was needed. That scene was very powerful, I was glued to the set.

  34. BSGcast Says:

You know what… with all this Jesus talk about Baltar, specifically MAJIK’s very compelling theory, something interesting occurred to me: in our own Earth History there IS one prophet that was surrounded by an idol worshiping polytheistic majority and was visited by an angel of a monotheistic God, and asked to spread the word of the one true god to his pagan brethren… it was Mohammad. SO maybe Baltar’s allegory isn’t so much one of Christianity as it is of Islam.

    Thoughts?

    ~Matt

PS. Holy CRAP Adalla, not that quantity surpasses quality in my books, but that was an AMAZING post!

  35. Engal Says:

Well I’m thinking more and more about something that can show that the final five build the Raiders and maybe the others cylons :

A picture will resume my thought better I think :

  36. Ryan Lengel Says:

Just so you guys know, Leoben is 4 and Doral is 5. We already knew about Doral’s number from a while ago :D

Anyways, my feelings about Boomer…I’m thinking that she has some sort of plan to really screw with the Cylons’ minds. We saw in Downloaded and Occupation that she is still acting. Just notice the way that she reacts to things, I don’t think that she is still being sincere. Then, in Eye of Jupiter, you see her being concerned about Hera, and yet one episode later, she wants to snap Hera’s neck? I’m sort of thinking that she and Athena had made some sort of plan, like they tricked Caprica Six into snapping her neck to convince C6 to help Athena get off of the ship. With this vote for lobotomizing the Raiders, maybe she didn’t know that it would cause Natalie to make the Centurions sentient, but I think that she really juts planned on frakking with the Cylons. If this is the case, I will LOVE RDM for making Boomer kickass again. When they said that she had an important part in Season 4, I hope that the part wasn’t just this single vote, which while it IS important, I feel like they are really ruining her character.

Also, something that confused me, while I did expect Simon to be performing the lobotomizations since he is the only one with any sort of intelligence of health, but Cavil said himself “I’m a mechanic, when things are broken, I fix them” So why wouldn’t we see him do something with the Raiders? Unless he is just their main man when something goes wrong.

Now onto Roslin…I don’t know whether to hate her or love her. She has been a real bitch this season so far, but in that simple 15 second scene when you see her twirl her hair and some of it comes out, and then she just breaks into tears. Its scenes like this that Mary McDonnell does that remind me why she is one of my favorite actresses.

  37. Sorshadeanin Says:

All of this has happened before, and all of it will happen again.

Could, say 40 odd years ago, humans have removed the same chip from the Toasters, going, look ma a smart cylon. And yes, the cylons got wise to their slave ranks and rose up, fought a war and disappeared to make the human models. And then those human models put the chip back in. Now Natalie has taken the chip out, how long of her asking them to do things will they take before they say “I’m not your bitch,” and kill her as well as the others. Perhaps this is what Leoben meant.

  38. Adam Says:

    Matt,

It would be very easy for all of us to speculate and validate Baltar as either Christ or Mohammed. I would tend to believe realistically that Eick and Moore wouldn’t pigeon hole themselves to one particular religion or another. Suffice it to say that I believe Baltar is a “messiah” of some sort that is finding the salvation and forgiveness he so desparately seeks through his own dillusions of grandeur. He can’t get redemption from the humans or the cylons so he is redeeming himself by being the Savior of the race he believes he is responsible for destroying. I can’t wait to see how this develops. I don’t think we’ll have to wait too much longer until we know his full purpose.

  39. Ryan L Says:

Sorry, I ment that Simon is 4, not Leoben

  40. MAJIK Says:

I WOULD AGREE THAT BALTAR COULD BE EITHER JESUS OR MOHAMMED, AFTER ALL THEY WERE BOTH CONSIDERED PROPHETS OF THE ONE TRUE GOD. I WAS LEANING A LITTLE MORE TOWARDS THE CHRIST SIDE BECAUSE OF THE SPECIFICS “FALSE” GODS IN QUESTION, THAT BEING THE 12, WHICH ARE THE ACIENT GREEK GODS, WHICH ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE ROMAN GODS OF CHRIST’S TIME. I ALSO AGREE WITH ADAM SAYING THAT THEY WOULDN’T CHOOSE ONE PARTICULAR RELIGION OVER ANOTHER, BUT THEN AGAIN WE’RE TALKING ABOUT BALTAR BECOMING A PROPHET, WITH THE HELP OF HEAD 6, OR EVEN HEAD BALTAR. THAT DOESN’T MEAN HE IS JESUS, OR MOHAMMED, BUT HISTORY MIGHT SEE HIM AS BOTH. AS TIME PASSES, AND STORIES ARE TOLD, HE COULD BECOME THE BASIS FOR ONE, OR BOTH, OR EVEN MORE OF THE RELIGIOUS SYMBOLS WE KNOW TODAY.

AS FAR AS FINDING EARTH GOES, MY THOERY IS THAT THE EYE OF JUPITER TALKED ABOUT BY THE ACIENTS, IS ACTUALLY A PORTAL/WORMHOLE, IT OPENS UP TO OUR JUPITER, SPECIFICALLY THE RED EYE OF JUPITER. SI ROSELYN WAS RIGHT IT IS A ROAD SIGN ON THE WAY TO EARTH, JUST IN A DIFFERENT WAY THAN SHE UNDERSTANDS. THAT’S HOW KARA GOT TO EARTH SO EASILLY, AND HOW SHE GOT BACK HAVING NOT KNOWN HOW LONG SHE WAS GONE. TRAVELING THROUGH A WORMHOLE COULD CAUSE ALL KINDS OF UNKNOWN TIME DISPLACEMENT. ALTHOUGH I DO THINK IT IS SOMEHOW ALL DIRECTED BY SOME HIGHER BEING, KARA IS AFTER ALL SOME SORT, IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, OF ANGEL/PROPHET. SHE DOES HAVE SOME SORT OF DESTINY THAT IS GUIDING HER.

MY OPINION ON THE FINAL CYLON OS GAIDA (HOPE I SPELLED IT RIGHT) HE IS IN A POSITION OF INFLUENCE ON GALACTICA, AND THERE IS MORE TO HIM THAN WE HAVE SEEN. I REMEMBER RIGHT BEFOIRE HE TRIED TO KILL BALTAR, BALTAR WHISPERED SOMETHING INTO HIS EAR SAYING “DO THEY KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE” THEN HE TRIED TO KILL HIM, SO HE COULD BE SEEKING REDEMPTION FOR SOMETHING. ALSO D’AINA RECOGNIZED ONE OF THE CYLONS, AND SOUNDED SORRY FOR NOT KNOWIN, AND OTHER THAN BALTAR, THE HUMAN SHE WOULD HAVE THE MOST CONTACT WITH WOULD HAVE BEEN GAIDA SINCE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN WITH BALTAR MOST OF THE TIME ON NEW CAPRICA.

OTHER THAN THAT THANX MATT, AND NAT FOR THE GREAT EPISODES, LOVE ‘EM. KEEP ‘EM GOING. LATERZ

  41. Tootie Says:

WHY are some people in this forum, like Adalla and Ryan, being so hard on Roslin?

She shot Kara because she obviously suspected her of being a cylon or brainwashed by the cylons. She has to protect herself and her people. She made it clear why she can’t trust her with the fate of the fleet – she just can’t because it isn’t a sure thing! And Adama agrees with her. You shouldn’t hate her, you should respect her…(go back and rewatch Season 4 ep 1 from this perspective and you can’t see Kara any other way…)

Sorshadeanin is bang-on. The remaining cylons (after their civil war) and humans are going to have to unite to fight the sentient toaster and raiders. This has happened before, and…

I agree with Adam: “Suffice it to say that I believe Baltar is a “messiah” of some sort that is finding the salvation and forgiveness he so desparately seeks through his own dillusions of grandeur.”

Ryan – very interesting about Boomer. I never thought of her as being deceitful (in a good way), but I think you’re absolutely right. She still thinks of herself as human (from being ressurected, hanging out at her old apartment on Caprica etc.) and is loyal to the humans and still loves Chief and did not in fact vote against her model, it’s only an illusion…

    GREAT FORUM guys!!

For some reason, I can’t hear any sound on this BSG Cast?! :S

Just a couple of answers to the comments:

    “Gaius Baltar to Tory Foster:

How could you hear that dialogue and still say that Baltar is not the Final Cylon?”

@Adalla: Because I have a good memory and I remember that this is pretty much the speech that Head 6 made to Gaius in Kobol’s Last Gleaming. Once more, he has stumbled onto exactly the right thing to say.

@Ryan Lengel: Leoben is 2, Simon is 4. Cavil is 1.

  43. Adam Says:

Majik I see your point, Baltar doesn’t necessarily have to BE Jesus or Mohammed…

As far as Gaeta being the final Cylon goes- I don’t see that. It is going to be someone with stroke and a shock factor. D’Anna was beyond reverent when she saw the final Cylon and I don’t see Gaeta causing that sort of response. He’s a good character and I’m not saying he isn’t important…just saying that he isn’t the major player that would make me flinch for being the fianl one. I’d be more like “What the Frak?”

I also agree with Majik about the possibility of the Eye being a wormhole and transporting Kara seemlessly through space and time…

OH MY FRAKKIN” GOD!!! I can’t wait for the next BSG Cast…Cally! I said Tori is evil! What an ending! I am in total shock! I thought for sure the whole Tori/Cally airlock thing would be a dream sequence or something…this show just keeps putting me on the edge… :P

  47. Kirsty Says:

If you look throughout earth history there are 12 tribes of Israel,
12 signs of the zodiac in European culture and in Chinese culture,
12 chakras of the human body,
    12 strands of DNA.
However in Egyptian mythology it goes back even farther than some cultures… well not necessarily back farther but they knew stuff that some other cultures may have not. Ancient knowledge passed onto them by 12 ancients from Atlantis. (The great ennead Horus, Set, Thoth, Khnum, Hathor, Sobek, Ra, Amon, Ptah, Anubis, Osiris and Isis ) However some believe that the daughter of Thoth (the 13th) went to Peru instead of Egypt.
The Egyptians believed in 13 chakras. The 13th above the head in the aura.
Many ancient cultures especially the Mayan culture believe that this cycle (or this world) will end on December 21 2012 and we will enter the 5th world. “Not an end but a beginning.” However the effects of this change will be felt or the world will really end on Feb 18 in 2013.
The changes happen twice every 26000 years. (every 13000 years) It is called the precessions of the equinoxes. “Transformation is the goal.”
Many people believe that everything has happened before and everything will happen again. Only on earth it’s slightly different than the show in that they believe that everything has happened before and everything will happen again on a higher octave until the story has resolved itself. Some may move through the octaves before others.

In Battlestar Galactica the 12 lords of Kobol created the human race who became 13 tribes. After human sacrifice and violence the 13 tribes left Kobol. 12 tribes went to the colonies and one tribe… the 13th tribe went the other direction, to Earth. Then the 12 colonies created Cylons that evolved into organic bodies who created 12 models to represent themselves.
(The final 5 models may represent the 5th world, or helping humanity to enter the 5th world. As they are helping the human race to reach Earth.) In BSG history there were 5 pillars of the temple for the 5 priests devoted to the one who’s name cannot be spoken. The 5 priests who created the temple of 5 on the alge planet so that in the future number 3 (d’anna biers) could look through the eye of Jupiter (the eye of god) and see the faces of the final 5. However it could have been that they eye of Jupiter opened a doorway to allow the chosen ones to see their faces. Six, Baltar, Hera, Athena and Laura in their dreams. Now it stands to reason that each lord of Kobol organized the humans into tribes each after their own making. If this is true then it is secretly suggesting that if there are 13 tribes of humans there must be a 13th lord of Kobol. (However some have said that only 9 lords have been mentioned but 12 are implied. Leaving a mysterious 13th) Continued…

  48. Adalla Says:

“WHY are some people in this forum, like Adalla and Ryan, being so hard on Roslin?” – Tootie

I dont think I’m being hard on Roslin. I understand her skepticism and her duty to not put the hands of the entire human race in the hands of someone who returned from the dead. However, what I do have a problem with, is Roslin trying to kill a defenseless Kara in cold blood, execution-style. That’s not the Roslin I came to love over the past 3 seasons. The Roslin I loved did not act instinctively, always rationally.

“@Adalla: Because I have a good memory and I remember that this is pretty much the speech that Head 6 made to Gaius in Kobol’s Last Gleaming. Once more, he has stumbled onto exactly the right thing to say.”- Ivana

Ok, I dont see how this still supports that Baltar is not the Final Cylon. Six is after all the voice of God it seems, and the way Baltar said the things he said to Tori in that exchange, he did not seem his usual self. He spoke as if he were someone else, as if he wasnt aware of the things he was saying (and he wasnt aware, because he thought Tori said music, while she had said song, and told Baltar this, but he went ahead and ignored her).

There is too much evidence to show that Baltar is the Final Cylon, and it honestly would be terribly disappointing if he turned out to not be a Cylon.

I just watched Three’s vision in the Temple of Five today, and she looks at each of the Final Five in the face, and then stops and lingers her gaze on one particular person. Now, this goes along with the theme that the four and the final cylon are a bit seperate. So more like Final Four and Final One kindo thing. Anyways, as she stares at what I believe is the Final Cylon in that vision in the Opera House, she says “I’m so sorry, I didnt know” . Who has she met and done something bad to, that should would want to apologize for? Well, two people really come to mind. Bull Dog (I think that was his callsign, the black pilot who has flown the Stealth ship on black ops mission Adama was on). Because D’anna was somewhat torturing the guy while he was in his cell. And he doesnt fit the rest of the Hybrid Prophecy. The other person is of course, Baltar, who Three fully tortured. I cant see her saying “I’m so sorry” to Gaeta, or Adama, or Roslin, or Kara. She has done nothing harmful to these people, any more than she has done in general to the entire human fleet. However, to Baltar she can say sorry, because she bloody tortured the guy after all!

Ok, if that’s not enough, as she holds the arm of the Final Cylon in the Opera House, as the vision collapses and she returns to the Temple of Five…she is holding Baltar’s arm. To me, that’s even further proof.

Now, if RDM is just playing a big joke on all of us, that’s very possible. You know, to keep the ratings high, make you think Baltar is a Cylon for all 4 Seasons, and then at the very end have another person be revealed as the Final Cylon, yes, very possible for ratings and drama-effect, but I pray to the Gods that he doesnt do anything like that.

I mean why would a writer give you so many hints about something, and then totally go against it in the end? It’d just be a terribly disappointment and I hope RDM doesnt go that route. But we shall find out soon enough.

The title of Episoe 413 (I think that’s the one), the mid-season cliffhanger, is called Revelations. I think that could be the episode that reveals the Final Cylon…so we are like 7 or so episodes away ;)

    Anyways, we shall see :)

    ~Adalla

  50. Kirsty Says:

I agree that it would be disappointing if Baltar was the last cylon, but honestly everything points to it being him. The old hybrid saying “And the fifth, still in shadow, clawing towards the light, seeking redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering.” That is almost and exact description of episode 3.13 when Baltar is being interrogated with that drug.
Second, when D’iana walks into the eye of jupiter and sees the final 5. Baltar pulls her back to ask her what she’s seen. She says “You were right. So beautiful.” Was she talking about Baltar thinking he’s a cylon? Possibly.
However RDM did say he would be misleading people about who the final cylon is. So… all of this could go right out the window.

I do agree that the president is starting to become a Razor. She’s reacting in fear now instead of following her heart. In the past following her heart has always been her greatest strength and given her the wisdom to make the right descisons in regards to finding earth. It was only 3 seasons ago the president was put in the brig for sending Kara to Caprica to retrieve the arrow of apollo, then took half the fleet to kobol to look for the map to earth. All based on her faith. Now she’s willing to commit murder on the possibility that someone is a cylon. I think knowing she’s going too die is becoming to hard for her. She’s going razor to complete her calling before she dies. I still love the president. She’s done enough good that I can forgive this, given her circumstances.

  51. Andy Says:

You know, there’s a theory around that matches the Cylon model numbers up with the Zodiac (where we, as you should all know, get the 12 colonies from). Surprisingly (or not), their personalities match up incredibly. I’ll spare you the details as they are kind of long and you can probably Google it, but according to this theory the final unknown Cylon is left with the sign Libra (equality, Justice, truth at any price. They make good lawyers) as his/her zodiac sign. This might point to Roslin (Unlikely) or Lee. Lee, that’s right. Our Clark Kent might actually turn out to be a Kal-El after all! It would certainly be an interesting choice anyway. ‘m not as episode or lore savvy as a lot of the people here, but that’s who I think the final Cylon is. Lee, I’m calling it!

    12 strands of DNA????

I agree with Ivana re. Baltar’s music comment:

Baltar: Yeah, you know, it’s funny. It’s a lot like that. It’s like the distant chaos of an orchestra tuning up, and then somebody waves a magic wand. And all of those notes start to slide into place. The grotesque, screeching cacophony becomes a single melody.
Adalla: How could you hear that dialogue and still say that Baltar is not the Final Cylon?”
Ivana: Because I have a good memory and I remember that this is pretty much the speech that Head 6 made to Gaius in Kobol’s Last Gleaming. Once more, he has stumbled onto exactly the right thing to say.
THIS IS A RED HERRING. TOO OBVIOUS!!!

    Well that posted? LOL
The term ‘12 Strand DNA’ is a pseudoscience term used by healers and energy workers to denote that a soul is evolving into higher requency by activating its DNA code beyond its twin strand spiraling DNA helix.

Whenever I try to post it won’t come up. Then 3 days later some will post in duplicate and others don’t post at all. I might have a setting wrong on my computer so I’ve decided to upload my theories to Snap drive and post the link here instead. I’ve put a lot of thought into it so I hope it’s of interest to some people.
The first part is the post I made above the other 2 are new.

Well, Tootie, perhaps because the writing and Mary’s performance are so damn good that there’s a degree of ambiguity there. I agree with you that from Roslin’s perspective everything she does and says is utterly convincing. But t’s not a ’sure thing’ that Roslin isn’t a Chamalla-and-Diloxin addled paranoid autocrat with a messiah complex — and form for ignoring people who don’t tell her what she wants to hear and damn the consequences — who is clinging to her delusions because (as Adama says) if she’s not the “dying leader” foretold in the scrolls of Pythia her death and dying is as meaningless as everyone else’s.

Oh, and has Roslin told anyone else that she’s having shared ‘projections’ with Athena and Cap-Six. Or is she still rational enough to know that would sure look like she’s been mind-fraked by the Cylons if she isn’t one herself.

“Anyways, as she stares at what I believe is the Final Cylon in that vision in the Opera House, she says “I’m so sorry, I didnt know” . Who has she met and done something bad to, that should would want to apologize for?” – Adalla

Saul TY. He was tortured, lost an eye…..Just because it was the last face she looked at doesnt mean it was the final cylon.

I was rewatching “Six of One” and was watching the massacre scene. As I was watching, I was listening to the Centurion’s machine gun fire and I noticed something: the machine gun fire isn’t the same sound effect they used in the previous seasons. And replaying the scene again, I listened to the sounds of the machine guns again and realized what they sounded like: the M-41A Pulse Rifles from the movie “Aliens”! The machine gun fire from the Centurions sounds exactly like the high-pitched gunfire from the weapon of choice of the Colonial Marines from the classic sci-fi war film. Maybe the Cylons ran out of their typical ammo and got some of the Colonial Marine’s ammo for the Centurions.

    Anyone else notice this?

  60. Kirsty Says:

Oh and Matt you were mentioning that the president looks a little different. I’m pretty sure she’s had lip injections. It’s nothing I’ve heard but I work in a medi spa so I’ve seen what injected lips look like quite a bit. It’s not a bad thing by any means, but I think that’s what your noticeing when you say she looks different.
That and she may have botox in her cheeks. I hope she hasn’t done anything like that, because she’s supposed to be dying of cancer, not looking like she’s at the peak of health. Either way Mary macdonald is awesome!

  61. Ivana Says:

@ Adalla: “There is too much evidence to show that Baltar is the Final Cylon, and it honestly would be terribly disappointing if he turned out to not be a Cylon.

It would really be extremely disappointing if Baltar is a Cylon, because 1) it would be totally anti-climatic, and 2) it would only spoil the character and so many of the storylines (Baltar/6 human/Cylon relationship, the protectors/substitute parents of Hera – the human/Cylon hybrid) while adding nothing to the story or character. What dramatic possibility would you get from making Baltar a Cylon? None at all.

As for D’Anna in the Temple of Five: D’Anna might have been apologizing to someone she or the Cylons have done something wrong to (Anders – because she tried to kill him, or Tigh because of the eye); I don’t think she would need to apologize so much to Baltar, since they were, erm, on good terms already, don’t you think so? But in fact, I don’t know why people even assume she was apologizing for something WRONG she had DONE to someone. She might have just been saying “I’m sorry for not showing you respect, I had no idea you were such a special person.” This could have been anyone she knew well and used to see on a regular basis, on New Caprica maybe…Gaeta, for instance. Maybe eveb Zarek.

But one thing is certain: she was totally SURPRISED to see that person there. It was someone she would have NEVER EXPECTED to be a Final Fiver. The thought had never even entered her mind.

D’Anna: YOU?!.. Forgive me, I had no idea!

For this reason, this scene is one of the best proofs that BALTAR CANNOT BE A CYLON. He would have been the last person D’Anna would be surprised to see there – because he had already asked her if she had seen him while she was in the space between life and death, and that he wanted to know if he was a Cylon. She told him she didn’t know. So, she definitely HAD THOUGHT about the possibility of him being a Cylon. No room for such surprise.
