"Seeing [Adama] and Tigh rock those noobs...yes!" That is my new favorite quote, hands down. Matt is hilariously brilliant when giddy.

Ok, late on the comment, probably not the most insightful or t-shirt worthy, but here's some thoughts.

Tigh's shock at seeing Roslin and Adama together: funniest moment on the show, no doubt.

First off, it's about time for a coup. Don't get me wrong, with less than 40,000 humans left, civil war is unbelievably stupid, but definitely justified. Four years of aimless wandering, including over a year of Cylon occupation can make someone pretty angry. Oh, and lets not forget the fact that three of the leaders of the New Caprica Resistance turned out to be Cylons. If I was one of the ex-Resistance members (like Connor), I'd feel betrayed, duped, and angry. And maybe it's just because I'm a big Ryan Robbins fan, but it's very, very cool to see Charlie Connor back and a sub-leader of the coup. He's been one of those characters floating around in the background with strong motivation, and he fits into the plot perfectly. Glad Starbuck didn't shoot him!

And Nat, I disagree, Gaeta's not the weak link in the coup, he's the dangerous wild card. I know I'll probably be disagreed with, but I think Zarek needs to take power, or at least get listened to. The Roslin-Adama dictatorship (lets face it, that's what it is), ignored the lower class, focused solely on prophecies, refused to take any other views, and when the legally appointed VP was legally allowed to take power, they stopped it, yet still claim to represent the law. I'm not saying Zarek would be a perfect leader, but he certainly seems more capable to follow the law than the current regime (ooh, always wanted to use "regime" in a post). See, I think Zarek has a plan to fix things. It may not work, but he has a plan. Gaeta is a different story. He's a believer, an extremist. He follows things almost blindly, with the utmost passion. Right now he's all about revolution, lofty ideas, and a new vision. But here's the catch, once the revolution is finished, then comes the tedium of trying to bring about that change. Zarek knows that, Gaeta doesn't. I suspect that Felix is going to move against Zarek for "going against" the revolution. He's going to take it too far. And Baltar help us all when he does.

Which actually brings me to my big question for the next episode: Who gets to kill Gaeta? He's got to go down, but now it's just a contest of who can get to him first. Will is be Adama, reclaiming the ship? Roslin putting down a coup? Starbuck for revenge on that verbal spar? Hoshi, in a slightly cliche lover killing? Zarek, should my above prophecy turn out true? Baltar, having to put down a wild dog? I actually want to see that one, partially because I don't like Gaeta, and partially because I love Baltar.

Oh, and here's something I'm wondering? When's Helo going to kick butt? I get the feeling that everyone's going to settle some scores next episode with their respective adversary, but I'm really hoping Helo does a lot of the buttkicking. So, Adama and Roslin are bad, Gaeta's an extremist, put Helo in charge! He's already shown to have the wisdom, and non-genocidal tendencies needed to be a leader. Neither Adama or Gaeta possess both of those virtues. He basically knows every position in Galactica by heart, and he's already been XO.

And on a different note, yay for the Chief! I commented in the last episode how TPTB have been doing all they can to cut the Chief's ties to humanity (including the ever stupid decylonification (see my last post for my view on why that makes no sense)), yet here he was, still drawn by a duty to help people. Very, very interesting. He finds out he's a Cylon, so he tries to assimilate and cut his ties to people, but in the end, his need to help people wins out. See, I think that is what BSG tries to hammer home. It is your actions, not your race that defines you. So far the Chief's actions win out over his race. In the end, I think it's people's actions that are going to determine their fate when the show finishes.

And onto my favorite messiah and antichrist....

Kara Thrace is the Harbinger of Death! Was anyone not scared by her reckless slaughter? Ok, I get it, she's re energized, but that pure excitement from killing is only hammering home my theory that she is a bringer of death. She led them to earth, the civil war started, and now she's on a killing spree, only adding to the growing death. Aurora the goddess of the dawn, Charon the boatman, Satan the Morning Star(buck), Kara is definitely emulating all of those characteristics. So, while I look forward to the epic shootout on Galactica in the next episode, I'm scared that Kara's violent nature is going to doom everyone.

And once again Baltar rocks. He has definitely entered a kind of Jesus's "Father, why have you forsaken me?" phase in his ministry, and his change in appearance definitely echoes that. Gone is the long hair and beard. He has his faith, but he doesn't know what to do now. Oh, and his skill for self-preservation? Classic! He did a wonderful job matching Roslin's comments tit-for-tat. And I found his call to Gaeta to definitely be the emotional crux of the episode, as opposed to the Adama-Roslin goodbye. They are the two smartest people in the universe, Gaeta looked up to Baltar, and Baltar did have a bit of a fondness for the guy. Baltar seemed truly sincere in his attempt to get Gaeta to stop the madness (and very "turn the other cheek"ish, more from TPTB to continue the Jesus/Baltar parallels). Remember the end of the New Caprica arc when Gaeta held Baltar at gunpoint? I think we'll see a reversal of that, somehow. Baltar has the strongest connection to Gaeta out of the main players, and he does owe him for the neck-stabbing.
