Thank the gods! I was wallowing in my own despair every time I checked here since Wednesday.

End of an era.
March 28th, 2009 at 11:58 am
Whaa!!! Can’t wait to find out who won
March 28th, 2009 at 12:27 pm
Nah, I don’t think it’s an end of an era. First off, we’ll have the last season DVD to review. And then the Plan, which I am sure that there will be a review of. And heck, Caprica Cast here we come!! And there’s always your geek news. And who knows, RDM might just revisit this verse again.
I watched the finale again last night when it was on SciFi prior to SG1 movie and was laughing, crying. Loved it again.

Wasn’t it more like 800+ comments?
March 28th, 2009 at 3:04 pm
Suspense is endless!
March 28th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
I look forward to seeing the first CapriCast and what Matt + Natt think of it. Hopefully it’ll be almost as awesome as BSG, because BSG is unsurpassed.
Also, extra long BSGcast? Can’t wait!

Anyone have an idea of how much the blue ray box set coming out later this year is gonna be? When season 1 came out it on HD DVD (sorry for anyone that jumped the gun and bought that) it was over $100 so I can’t imagine 4 seasons being cheap. Now do I buy 4.5 and complete the DVD set or spend a frakload of money and get the blue ray set.
March 28th, 2009 at 5:02 pm
I recently bought Season 1 HD-DVD at Frys for $14. lol. I don’t even have an hd player, just wanted the box set because it looked cool…
March 28th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
I doubt I’ll win (although I hope I do; cool t-shirts!), but the prospect of an extra long BSGCast is awesome. I can’t wait!
And even though it looks more melodrama then awesome action (please don’t be a soap opera…), I’m checking out Caprica if only for Eric “Lance the drug dealer” Stoltz being awesome. I can’t wait for Capricast.

Post-Op Report:
I tell you one thing is for certain, going through the first Friday post finale of BSG has been rather difficult. But I’ll cover all things BSG related about the past couple of days. On Friday, I had swung by a convenient store to see if they had any green-colored Powerade (after watching the “Things You’d Find on the Set” video of David Eick’s blog, and paying attention to the interview with the girl at the beverage cart, I knew I needed to get whatever it was that looked like the stuff they used as Ambrosia on the show. Now, granted, the girl said Gatorade, but if you look at the label of the bottle she holds, it has the Powerade symbol. Plus, Gatorade doesn”t make anything that dark green). I was only able to find Gatorade, so I bought a 32 ounce bottle of it. After I got through with class and got back to my apartment, I turned on the tube to catch the tale end of the third showing of “Daybreak, Part 2″ (which had started sometime around seven, but I watched the remaining of the episode. Came in after Starbuck jump Galactica and Galactica broke her back). I went to BSGPilots, expected to find someone there, but it was empty until 9:30.
Since I knew there wasn’t going to be any more BSG until “The Plan” and “Caprica”, I decided to pop in and view Season 1’s “Water” (I had rewatched both the mini-series and “33″ after the finale). After talking with several other users, one of us came up with the idea of doing rewatches of the show on DVD while in chat for the new few months until “The Plan” and “Caprica”. We may pitch the idea to Adalla if we can.
Today, I was lucky enough to find the green color Powerade I was looking for and bought 2 32oz bottles of it. May save it for next Friday. I actually wish I could find the same bottle they used on the show for Ambrosia. I would print out my own labels for the bottle, fill it up with the Powerade and party like the Tighs in “Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down”. I looked over the sheets I printed out the paper models of the Galactica, the Viper, the Raptor and the Bates Mansion from “Psycho” (okay, not BSG-related, but there’s not a whole lot of BSG related papercraft models for download). I also looked at websites that sold the Axcess BestBuild Binders, see if I could find one that I could buy it for cheap and then modify it to make my own replica binder (and from what I’ve seen on some the websites, it’d be anywhere between $10-20 less than the replica binders that was at the booth where I bought my Athena dogtags, which I am still wearing). I also went to the eBay/Propwerx profile to look at the props for auction. Since I bought a laminator, I realize that I can make prop replicas of the guest passes seen in “Colonial Day”. I also looked at other paper-related props that were being bidded on in the profile, some of them making me wish I had as much talent as the prop and art departments.
Checked a few forums to see if I could get any leads on the Sims I need for my machinima comic book fan fiction series, with still no luck. Decided to watch some BSG fan films, still hoping that a lot of fans will start producing some more, non-Videomaker related BSG fan films. I realize I will have to do a lot of reworking on some of my ideas for my machinima comic book fan fiction series, “Battlestar Galactica: Odyssey” due to stuff presented within the last few episodes. One of the ideas I originally had would have explained how Starbuck and Apollo met each other, which would have been in training with Christine “Sheba” Malfi (one of the characters in my comic series. But, I have decided to rework it to where Starbuck still is trained by Sheba, getting her callsign from her. Another idea, which I have completely abandoned now was that another character from my comic series, John Coba, would have been the nephew of Laura Roslin. But since both Roslin’s younger sisters were introduced, the odds of one of them having a 25 year-old son was made completely impossible. Plus, the fact that they were also killed off made it even more impossible. Probably for the best anyway. No need for so many connections anyway.
Maybe reading too much into this, but I noticed that there is an opening for another possible BSG spin-off, may/may not be intentional. Romo Lampkin asks “What if (the Red Stripe Centurions) evolve again and decide to come back to attack mankind once more?” It got me thinking, what if the last copy of Cavil alive ordered his Centurions to hunt down and destroy the humans (remember, there were basestars jumping in and out of where the Cylon Colony was). And what if Cavil’s Centurions showed up at our Earth, looking to complete their orders? Maybe a detail unintentional by Ron Moore, maybe an opening left open by Moore to use later for either a new series or a TV movie. Or maybe he left it open so that fans can start off their own fan fiction series involving that scenario. You never know.
Right now, I’m sitting in my apartment with no lights on in honor of Earth Hour. Nothing much on except for the “Law and Order: SVU” Marathon on USA. Can’t watch another BSG episode right now, since I plan on rewatching one episode each Friday. Can’t wait for Season 4.5 boxset. Munching on Twizzlers. I miss BSG. Will hopefully get the BSG Old and New Panel video up sometime tomorrow, or at least start. Can’t wait for Capricast, “Caprica” and “The Plan”. Better than having nothing to look forward too.
No need to get excited. It’s not like there’s much options at the current time. But, all we can do now is roll with it.
March 29th, 2009 at 8:58 am
@ CB2001
You seem to be going through quite the BSG withdrawal. I feel your pain. Whenever I’m online, all I can do is head over to youtube and listen to the BSG soundtracks posted there. And check this site. And scifi.com. And Bear’s Battlestar Blog.
Don’t worry. I miss BSG too.
March 29th, 2009 at 11:50 am
@ John- Thanks. Good to know that I’m not the only one. I’m actually hoping that a lot of fans will start up some more BSG related fan projects soon. But until then… Nothing much to do but wait.
March 29th, 2009 at 1:37 pm
when is this going up?!
March 29th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
The suspence is killing me!!! Please upload sooon!!
March 29th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
CB2001 I am feeling pretty bad for you. My husband doesn’t understand my scifi side. He puts up with scfi friday thankfully. But I have a suggestion for you. Read on……
Years ago I picked a copy of ‘The Dune Encyclopedia, by Dr. Willis E. McNelly’. I have always enjoyed reading it. It sits proudly with my Frank Herbert books. Perhaps this is a project for you, AND be a (RDM authorized) BSG fan based fictional encyclopedia. To answer all the questions and create a back story. I for one would buy it.
Just a thought,
CJimison
March 29th, 2009 at 6:52 pm
@57th Cylon – Thanks for the encouraging words. But right now, my major fan-based project is my machinima comic book fan fiction series titled “Battlestar Galactica: Odyssey”. And right now, I’m hold up because there are four Sims I need before I can begin to get the series started. Besides, if I did a RIS fictional encyclopedia, RDM wouldn’t authorize it because some of the information I picked up on the show is drastically different than most. I’m probably the only one who asked the question, “If the Cylons created the farms, then why trust Helo to get Athena pregnant? Wouldn’t they have had a human male-to-Cylon female version of a farm or controlled experiment?” And, thinking from a Cylon point of view, my answer was: “The only reason why we trust Helo to get Athena pregnant is because our original test subject discovered his girlfriend was a Cylon. And due to that, it compromised the original project. Helo was just a convenient backup that came up when we needed it.” (and that is one of those details I’m using for my machinima comic book fan fiction series).
But until I can get those four Sims I need of Cavil, Doral, Simon and Leoban, I’m pretty much sitting on my hands trying to fill up my time with classwork and other BSG related material. But thanks for the suggestion.
March 29th, 2009 at 6:54 pm
In addition to above response: I’m also still waiting to hear back from Matt and Nat about some ideas I had for the comic series. I don’t even know if they got the e-mail.
March 29th, 2009 at 7:05 pm
BSGcast is exporting from Final Cut Pro now! It should be another hour or so and it’ll be coming down the iTunes pipe… and then within two hours it’ll be ready to post right here. I hope you guys enjoy it… and are looking forward to the Alienware winner
~Matt
March 29th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
@BSGcast- Most definitely will, Matt. Anything to fill-in the post BSG-finale blues.
March 29th, 2009 at 7:13 pm
When I heard this would be up this weekend, I didn’t figure you guys wait until the last moment, but it’s fine. I’ve been here since the beginning of this and enjoyed every second of you guys.
@CB2001:
You know with The Plan, it could discredit your idea of the farm, but nonetheless I do enjoy some good fanfiction (good as opposed to the complete crap that I find at time at fanfiction.net <<<Good website nonetheless where I once started a story in the BSG universe where there were survivors on Geminion in hiding, until they find out the orphan girl, who had grown up, that came to live with them, is a cylon, an eight. She was testing there survival techniques to understand the human condition better…I digress). If you post it somewhere, I’d probably read it, I usually give anything a chance. I myself am writing a fifteen part comic series for the hell of it. I use celtx, free software is always good. Anyways, goodluck,
-Mario
March 29th, 2009 at 7:53 pm
@ Mario – I know that “The Plan” will put a little bit of a dent in my story concepts, especially since the show has done it with some character details (as I’ve pointed out before). But I’m rolling with it. Yeah, fanfiction.net is a good website. Too bad I can’t post my comic series there (I could use it). I’m looking at free websites and blog sites for possible places where the comic series can be held. They will be in PDF format. In fact, someone recommended I talk with the creator of “Battlestar Prometheus” and bounce some ideas off him. Most recently, due to the end of the show, I’ve been asking fans if the concept of alternate realities seems plausible for the show’s universe or if it seems rather typical sci-fi for the show’s universe (the reason why I ask is because I honestly didn’t expect Galactica to find our Earth, so my initial idea for the comic series’ end will have to be heavily modified in some way to keep the ending not be a total rehash of the ending of the show) .

@CB:
hey man are u in orlando by any chance?
It’s a bit of a strectch, but *someone*, a while back, posted *something* about megacon in Orlando, and I *think* in the video they *implied* they lived nearby.. and I think it was you. Whole lotta assuming there, but nonetheless, im @ UCF. You?
March 29th, 2009 at 8:03 pm
CB2001, I am with you on the Cylon reproduction/experiment farm questions????? And I agree with you on the failure of Caprica and Baltar to reproduce, but my final observation that I have penned here twice is…… Baltar loved every version of Six and it was Sixes expectations that were not met by him until the end. Too late for fate. My observations only…
And an ‘Encyclopedia Galcatica’ would be a fan driven vehicle and fan edited unless RDM would like to participate in the exercise. It could also be an online version similar to Wikipedia with ‘Galactican’ entries and investigative reports. Klingons have their own pages already. Why not!
My thoughts, end of line,
CJimison
March 29th, 2009 at 8:57 pm
@ Johnathan- I’m in the area of Orlando. I’m in Winter Park and I did attend MegaCon (and I did post the video about my day there, with plans on getting my BSG Old and New panel video up). I’m attending Full Sail University, which is down the road from UCF.
@57th Cylon- I don’t believe that Caprica and Baltar were the original experiment (confirmed by Caprica in the mini-series, that her mission with him was to gain access to the fleet mainframes and pretty much lead to the destruction of the Colonies). I believe there was some other average joe, who was selected by a female Cylon for the experiment, had a relationship for two years and after the attacks, that same Cylon female would continue to play the role of human while in a controlled environment with her selected male. This happens to be what happens with two characters in my comic series, John Coba and Kate. John is a college student who has the unfortunate (or fortunate if you look at it) luck at finding out his girlfriend is a Cylon. And Kate, the girlfriend, is a Model Eight Cylon (granted, you’re thinking, “Why have another Model Eight be in love? Haven’t seen that enough?” The answer is rather logical: I think the weakness of the Model, that Head Six pointed out to Baltar in “Kobol’s Last Gleaming, Part 1″, is that the Model Eights have a more realistic and quicker emotional reaction than any of the female Cylons. Think about it, how long do you think it takes a Six, a model who is rather vain on one level and deceitful on another, or a Model Three, who found the thought of seducing a human male disturbing, to fall in love? Probably as long as two years. How long did the Chief and Boomer have a relationship? They had it, from what we can tell, as long as two years. Helo and Athena didn’t take very long to fall in love with each other. Granted, Helo had feelings for Boomer, but Athena obviously fell for him a lot quicker than it would have taken a Six or a Three. And since the human male/Cylon female crossbreeding experiment was to find out if love was what the Cylons were missing in their attempts to breed, they would want to make sure that both parties are in love to make it possible. So, logically, the Model Eight matches the criteria of such a project either way because of their ability to have a closer and quicker emotional reaction than the others).
Of course, I could be wrong with the above info. However, by using the above, it does set up a lot of conflict between those two characters for some of the series’ timeline and a possible story later on involving further experiments after the Cylons believe that Hera is dead.
Well, I know the “Encyclopedia Galactica” thing sounds like a good idea, but technically, one already exists: The Battlestar Wiki.
March 29th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
@JJ Thanks for the heads up about the season 1 HD version being so cheap. It’s 9.95 on Fry’s website and I have an HD DVD/Blue ray on my computer – I figure for $10 I’ll be able to watch it quite a few times until my computer dies in a few years. I went to my local Fry’s to see if they had it but they were out. I did not go home empty handed though – they has all four cds of bsg’s music. I got season 1 and 3, for now, which I will be constantly listening to for the next few days – oh the withdrawals – Each song reminds me of where each musical cue took place in the series.
I too would love to see more fan films. The were a handful in the BSG film contest that were great and really nailed the look and feel of the show. That is what makes for good fan films – when you feel that this could actually be part of the show’s universe. A Star Wars fan film just needs to have a light saber effect and you’re set, BSG has more to do with filters, lighting and camera work – both are possible to achieve by people with the right software. What is not so easy is a good story, a good cameraman and good actors. I don’t know what everyone’s talents on this site are but maybe we can have everyone on BSGcast site work on a fan film. Good way to keep the site going. I’ve always thought it would be fun to put a small film together but don’t know enough about filmmaking or have the money for editing software – maybe someone else does. Just an idea.
March 29th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
… It’s been 3 hours!
March 29th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
@CB2001, Help me understand what happened to Starbuck when she was recovering from a gunshot wound under Simon’s care. I had a Dune moment when I saw human reproductive captives (Axlotl Tanks of Tleilax, Dune moment) in the gestation room. What really happened to Kara?
And going back to Caprica Six, I think she evolved with every download. As far as the Three’s go I don’t think she could ever enjoy a man. Baltar was the only one I ever saw, maybe I missed one or two. It was her competitive nature that sent her to Giaus’s bed to squeeze Six’s insecurities. An then my final question is how did Saul Tigh almost become a papa with Caprica Six (which one)? What is the final explanation there? Love?
Of course I could be wrong about all the above,
Best of luck on your comic series,
CJimison

Pavlov’s God: I agree about the fan films thing. But since BSG fans are smart and know what good stories are, I don’t think we’ll have any problems in the story department (even “By All Means Necessary”, which is comedic, it did tell a good story even for it be funny). I believe the fans would look for good actors for their works and not just have something thrown there. Here are just a few good examples (much of them from the Videomaker contest):
1. “Lucifer”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faXq71TGhdQ
2. “Whatever It Takes” (Extended Version): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeyjyp6hVT0
3. “Glory of God” (I have to give this props because the filmmaker went a step further than most fans in one detail: he recreated scenes from the show just for the opening recap. Plus, I like the interiors): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hki6m0bifg
4. “In Memory of Those Left Behind”: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1358198/ (you can also view it there as well)
5. “By Your Command”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ga4CjUYwmE
Plus, fans are more willing to help each other out if fans are needing help with fan films. I think Adalla over at BSGPilots is planning on doing CG work for fan works (I could be wrong about this, it’s been a while since I last spoke with him, but I know he’s still working on “A Gread Sadness”, which is pretty impressive CG work from the pictures he’s posted). I’ve got a feeling that any BSG fan film that comes out, unless its purposefully meant to be a comedic work, it will be of high quality in all aspects where other fan films fail.

I apologize if this gets posted multiple times. For some reason, my posting is not going through. So, if multiples show up, please ignore them.
@ 57th Cylon: Well, if I had to guess, I think that they were examining her while she out cold to see if she could be hooked up to the machinery like the other women in the Farm. However, in the middle of the examination they found what Simon stated they found: internal bleeding. So, they ended up having to put off hooking her up until her internal bleeding was fixed and healed. And that scar was just them fixing her up so that the sooner she got better, the sooner she could be used as a part of the Farm. Nothing more than that.
About Caprica Six, it wasn’t just the downloads, but her experiences with Gaius Baltar (D’anna stated this in “Downloaded”. Granted, she said that Caprica and Boomer were “corrupted” by their experiences, but experience is a lot). Plus, as to Saul Tigh almost becoming a papa with Caprica Six? Don’t really know. The Cylons believed it was love that was the answer, especially with Hera being their living proof. Is that the answer as to how Tigh and Caprica almost had Liam? It’s hard to really say about it. But Tigh did say it best, “Cylon alone doesn’t work. Human alone doesn’t work.” But if love was involved, it would explain a LOT. It would explain why Gaius Baltar and Caprica didn’t have a child within the two years before the fall of the Colonies (since Baltar didn’t love her, but she loved him), why Gina never became pregnant by one of her rapists (as disturbing as that would have been) and why Helo and Athena were the only couple to actually have a living child. But is that the over all reason why? Don’t know. We do know that Caprica was having complications before Ellen Tigh stressed her.
@ Pavlov’s God: I agree about the fan films thing. But since BSG fans are smart and know what good stories are, I don’t think we’ll have any problems in the story department (even “By All Means Necessary”, which is comedic, it did tell a good story even for it be funny). For some reason, my replies to Pavlov’s God and 57th Cylon isn’t going through. I don’t know why. Is there suppose to be some sort of word limit on the reply or a link limit that I don’t know about? I don’t know what it is, but I’ll try again later.

Please ignore previous response, I guess my post made it through.
Matt and Nat- Great review as always. To me, I think that Starbuck, “Angel” Six and “Angel” Baltar are still tied into the Beings of Light. TBH, maybe the Beings of Light are working with “God” or “Angel” Baltar and “Angel” Six are working for “God” (who happens to be Count Iblis), while “Angel” Starbuck is really working for the Beings of Light. And maybe there was a competition going on between the groups, and this time, the Beings of Light won, proving to “God” that all of this has happened before, but might not happen again (which would explain why “Angel” Six was optimistic about Earth now, because her “God” had won the competition so many times before with Kobol, Cylon Earth and Caprica. By her “God” losing, it makes this angel seem rather hopeful for a change than to constantly seeing death and destruction over the years).
Also, please let me know if you got my e-mail about my machinima comic book fan fiction series that you two asked for at MegaCon. You can also disregard the idea about the Laura Roslin/John Coba family connection (since Moore pretty much axed that idea) and I hope you are enjoying the test comic, even though the idea of Laura Roslin and John Coba being related is now completely moot. If I don’t hear from you, I’ll have to assume that it didn’t go through and will have to resubmit it (this time, maybe through YourGeekNews.com). But let me know if you’ve got it or not, so that I know that it made it and put my worried mind to rest. Sorry about obsessing about that… It’s just that with no BSG and still having to wait and find Sims of Cavil, Doral, Simon and Leoban before I can begin work on the first issue of my machinima comic book fan fiction series… It’s mindnumbing, and any distraction is welcome. At least I’m not as obsessed as Jim Carey was in “The Number 23″ (scary thought just popped into my head: a BSG fan scribbling “Galactica” (and or names/frak) repeated over the walls of a room. *shutter*).
But now, I’m wondering… for Capricast and “The Plan”… Will you be doing your review of “The Plan” here at BSGcast or will you be doing it over at Capricast? Hmm…. Interesting question, eh?
March 30th, 2009 at 12:20 am
Almost forgot: J.J., congrats on winning the Alienware computer. I’m glad I didn’t get it. I already have two desktop computers, one of them for gaming (I love playing “Left 4 Dead” on it. Makes me wish there was a BSG total conversion mod for it. Hey, one’s being made for it based on the “Alien” films). Enjoy it, dude!
March 30th, 2009 at 12:40 am
@CB2001… Thank you for the explanations you posted. I still am not comfortable with Kara and her time at the Farm. In my mind I thought Cylon technology had advanced using DNA and stem cells. More?’s Glad my human O/negative dad and my Cylon O/positive (literally from outer space) mom had love. Dad was human and mom was a toaster. My brother would agree with me on that one.
Just finished watching the bsgcast. Many thanks for hosting this forum Matt and Nat. See you over at Capricast.
Guess I am a Hulon after all, Saul Tigh said it best, “Cylon alone doesn’t work. Human alone doesn’t work.”

I’m gonna miss BSGcast, but I’m glad I can still check in with you on yourgeeknews. You guys always put a lot of work into these reviews, and going through these comments, and I think it was great you provided a place like this. I wasn’t able to go through 700 comments, so it was cool to have you summarize a lot of it.
There’s were some loose ends, of course, and some things we just have to take for granted. Like archeologists finding only Hera’s remains out of everyone elses, and Adama keeping a Raptor, and Baltar/Caprica apparently not having hybrid babies of their own when Head Six implied that was Gods plan for Baltar all the way back in Season 2. And why did Head Baltar and Six still look like Baltar and Six 150,000 years later? Presumably so the audience would still recognise them, but it brings to the forefront that question – what was so special about Baltar and Six that God should speak to them personally in the first place? I still think there is room to suspect the Mitochondrial Eve – a human hybrid with a cylon mother and human father – might have been THEIR child, and Hera was only important to the extent that she brought them back together again in the vision. Ultimately, of course that’s not so, it would completely reduce Hera’s importance, but there were enough unanswered questions here to fuel all sorts of speculation. Maybe that’s part of the fun of BSG – and part of the frustration!
I enjoyed it, but there were questions that were unanswered and I think it was largely because the writers, back in Season 3.5, didn’t really know where to take the series and they just came up with dramatic reveals and filler episodes in the meantime. They wrote themselves into a corner. There was absolutely no way to resolve the Ghost Kara issue – especially since they went ahead and gave her a brand new ship. Unfortunately, it seems they chose to cop out instead of come up with an explanation. Maybe we’re supposed to say “Oh, she was just an angel all along” but that explanation rings a little hollow and contrived to me. Especially given her going-crazy episodes in early 4.0, which did ultimately culminate in their finding the rebel cylons, but still — and what explains Kara painting the maelstrom on her wall or having those visions of Leobin and her mother BEFORE she died?
I loved, absolutely loved, the ending montage of All Along the Watchtower with the modern day Earth robots. That was a fun way to bring things full circle.

As the time progress, I have found myself very much disappointed with the final five arc story, personally I can tolerate Starbuck’s story arc, than with final five’s. Did anyone catch how out of place they were in the last scene, before making the jump. I mean they were standing perfectly in line, while adama and the rest of the gang were cleaning out the cylon garbage. After seeing all of this, i began to hope what if someone else, maybe Felix or someone who have died, could have been one of the final five, instead of Tory. I really hope that this character gets some screen play–which i doubt will happen–in the ”plan”. From seeing the trailer, I hope they will also cover the original ”plan” that final five…or the surviving five from earth had and their journey to making deal with centurions in order to stop the bloodshed, leading up to development of seven models, especially cavil, as he is the main one among them all, and how he instituted everything. Basically, i wish that they don’t just show the last minute prep for the destruction of colonials, but will start from old earth, leading up to what transpired eventually. I hope Tory gets some character development, especially showing how she was before she got her memory wiped. This is the only way chance for Tory get some sort of redemption.
One more thing, which I doubt they even bother to answer, is how does the activation happens…besides hearing song inside one’s head? Did Cavil orchestrated the whole final 4/5 members activations once they reached nebula? Or that was something or someone else?

WOW!!! HOLY FRAK!!! GAIUS H. CHRIST!!! Loved the waving hands Nat!! lol.
Never in 150,000 years would I believe I’d win. This is kinda weird too. I wished out loud I would win this a few days ago, then a week before I wished it would rain and a cold front swooped in out of nowhere….ok..ok…now….”I wish to win the mega-million lottery!”…and….”I wish I finally had a girlfriend!”…lets see….which happens first…
Great cast as usual Matt + Nat! I too teared up with Baltar saying he knew about farming then ending with Adama by Roslin’s grave, all while “Shape of things to come” plays in the background.
Its been a fun clubhouse for sure. Im already ahead of you about re-watching the mini series. I actually got another friend into the show. I showed her the “Music of BSG” documentary on 4.0 dvds and she really liked it. She asked me ” do you have the show” I was like “Frak yeah!” then we watched the mini series and she loved it. she is on season 2 right now. lol.
March 30th, 2009 at 1:31 am
What can I say? JJ congrats! Matt and nat, eventhough we’ve never met face to face (and I still hope to soon) you guys are awesome and I want to thank you for this site…it totally made my BSG experience totally full! My best wishes to all my long time fellow posters here as well…see you at Capricast!
So say we all!
March 30th, 2009 at 1:39 am
congrats JJ, have fun with your new toy!!!!
Yah Baltar came full circle, I felt happy for him for a change…. I still do not like StarBuck going Poof, I don’t think may of us will really get over that, people going poof belongs on Lost not BSG :p
I must say Nat your right that have 40,000 people all agree too throw away ALL tec would be had to bite on. For me I like Hot showers & modern medicines… Maybe a small group kept some tec & that how we get the Atlantis story, the last holdouts of technology.
So when does The Plan come out, this Summer???? Fall????
I hope they include it in the BluRay boxset of BSG that suppost to come out on 7/28th or 7/24th
Next up Caprica
March 30th, 2009 at 1:56 am
Well…I didn’t get a shoutout like I was hoping for from you two but that’s alright, 700 comments, can’t please everybody. I justed wanted to say I totally agree with you on a lot of the issues about the finale and the Reagan quote I totally thought of that too during the episode but I just didn’t think to post it here, if I knew that’d get me a shoutout, but guess I should’ve. Fun fact, Reagan changed a part of the poem so it said “touch the face of God” instead of how it’s written saying “touch the face of perfection” (if I remember the story about that speech correctly). Anyway, I will def be coming over Capricast and wish you both the very best success forward.
March 30th, 2009 at 2:49 am
Congratualtion JJ and that Giaus H Christ thing was hilarious! haha.
I’m soooo glad that we can still get our bsg fixes with “The Plan” Then Caprica and therefore Carpicast
. I truly believe in my heart that Ron isn’t just making this up as he goes along. I believe he’s allowing the story to be told through him. This is automatic writing at it’s best, whether he knows it or not. I truly believe it, say what you will. This however is coming from a hardcore fan where the hybrid is her favorite character and all the metaphycial episodes are my favorite haha (Maelstrom, Rapture, Kobol’s last Gleaming, Torn and so many more). Others may disagree but for me this show was a spiritual experience. And I’m so grateful that Ron has told this story. He is one hell of an eloquent writer and a frakkin genious.
Kirsty Queen of the Nerd people anxiously awaiting “The Plan” and “Caprica”
March 30th, 2009 at 4:53 am
Damn i didn’t win the alienware
Never mind
You guys are awesome! Thanks so much for doing BSGcast and I promise I will be a rabid fan of Capricast too
Drop me a line if you’re ever in London
March 30th, 2009 at 7:12 am
great BSGCAST!!!-
though I must admit when it was all said and done I did feel like a 150,000 years later transition happened here on BSGCAST.
when yourgeeknews was mentioned and all of the upcoming movies that you are going to review- it was weird in a content way.
don’t get me wrong I think you both to a stellar job on geeknews, it was just weird- like times square weird.
ALL THE BEST! awaiting a few more BSGCAST’s.
March 30th, 2009 at 7:20 am
Thanks for the shoutout! It made my day!
And I have to say, that was, (at least to me,) the most insightful and informative BSGcast you guys have put out. It’s entirely appropriate that you saved the best for last. I agree almost entirely with your opinion of the episode.
And may I posit another argument about the roaming bad Cylons?
Since resurrection is no longer an option, in about 50-75 years, most of the skinjobs remaining will have perished. That leaves a bunch of phallically-inhibited centurions and lobotomized raiders, and a few hybrids. And, since the Centurions and Raiders are part organic, they may very well have a limited life span as well.
Can’t wait for The Plan, or Caprica, or Capricast.
March 30th, 2009 at 7:56 am
Matt and Nat!
<3 you guys!
You guys are great and really provided a wonderful place for us to hang.
Thanks!
March 30th, 2009 at 9:28 am
Please have a reset button! So sad its the end,and so sad the second half of part 2 was thrown together, kara the harbinger of death? The importance of hara? What about the frakking scrolls of pythia???!!! it led to them going to earth 2 and living quiet lives and not leaving a trace of who they were,to let their story end and for noone to know their sacrifice.Lame
March 30th, 2009 at 10:12 am
Matt+Nat:
So long and thanks for all the fish.
Here’s to your future reviews of geek news….
March 30th, 2009 at 10:59 am
Congrats JJ!
Much deserved!
Matt, Nat, thanks for all your hard work. I’ll be eagerly waiting for Capricast and your review of “The Plan.”
Until next time… SO SAY WE ALL!
March 30th, 2009 at 11:30 am
Matt and Nat, you said nothing about Anders final flight into the Sun. The original theme being played and the tear jerking moment of the entire fleet moving out. To me, besides Baltar breaking down about becoming a farmer, was one of the most moving scenes in the finale, at least from my point of view.
March 30th, 2009 at 11:44 am
Matt and Nat,
Thank you for your ongoing webcasts of the series. I certainly enjoyed meeting you in person and wish you all the best.
I agree that Ron wimped out on some plot and character points. But overall, I was crying my eyes out!
Perhaps now it’s time for fan-made webisodes like what they do for Star Trek over at Star Trek: New Voyages. That will be interesting. And the fearless leaders will be Matt and Nat.

Thanks for the shoutout, guys. I got so excited seeing that while sitting in my classroom on a free period. You did a great analysis of the final episode. Thanks for having this webcast, and I’ll definitely keep watching.

I’ve been looking around, but I can’t find many (good) fan films of BSG. I know you guys were just talking about it, so some links would be greatly appreciated.
March 30th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
Matt and Nat,
You guys rock. You are my king and queen, the royalty of sci-fi fandom, I worship you!
See you at FanExpo in Toronto in August I hope. Chances of me getting to anything else this year are slim.
Thank you for this clubhouse – great word. This place has been the best experience next to watching the eps.

I still find it hard to believe after the results of their first camping trip the survivors would give up tech. As beautiful as the scenery may have been, they are now reduced to a hunter gatherer existence. They reminded me of the Rainbow people as they headed out to discover their destiny.
As the fleet headed to the Sun, my tearful moment was when I heard Bear McCreary’s nod to TOS musical theme. So sad knowing the fleet ships were going to be BBQ’d. I will buy BSG soundtracks to add to my scifi soundtracks from Lexx and Farscape.
See you at Capricast,
CJimison
P.S. I wanted a alien shirt…. darn…

Don’t be sad be happy! BSG will lives in all of us now and forever!

Hey, guys!
Thank you for the great ride!
March 30th, 2009 at 8:27 pm
Thank you so much for all these years of insightful and entertaining commentary! I’ve been a lurker this whole time, but I felt I had to say something now that we’ve reached the end. You guys are awesome, and I’m definitely looking forward to The Plan and CapriCast!
Comment 1: I don’t remember where I read this (probably battlestarforum.com), but someone was theorizing that the humanoids we saw were Homo Sapiens Idaltu, which according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idaltu), date from 154k to 160k years ago.
Comment 2: I haven’t seen this anywhere else, but personally, when I saw Kara saying goodbye to Anders, I was convinced that she was going into the Sun with him. That would have been an epic and romantic ending that still would have let Ron off the hook for explaining Kara. Instead, we got the crappy “poof”/”gotcha” ending, that frankly ruined that thread for me.
Comment 3: If I was Lee, I’d go looking for my Dad. He’d be able to track the raptor… right?
March 30th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Here’s my thoughts about the Starbuck thing. So… first off.. consider the fact that there are even Angels involved at all. Clearly that’s a sign that this God thing will not lay down it’s hand and shape events in a 1-on-1 approach. It uses well-placed agents to guide humanity and cylon alike. This does allow for some small element of random chance. So as much as this god thing is obscenely powerful, it does seem that it is not responsible for taking life. Life and death don’t necessarily factor into it’s plan in a complete absolute. Instead, this God only really has an endgame.. how that endgame is reached can be left up to chance. Enter Starbuck blowing up. Random chance. It happened. But clearly Starbuck was a human agent of this god thing. She had a destiny which wasn’t fulfilled. So was she an Angel then? I think not. I think Starbuck was a ghost, or an echo of her old self. She wasn’t complete and she knew it. She could interact with the world around her, but aside from being able to pick up a glass, she was a ghost. She was troubled by her destiny, and was going to be doomed to her waking death until her destiny was complete. If you’ve watched The Crow, you might get the idea.. except think of her as “Ghost Starbuck who can touch things” rather that “Wonderfully Fresh-Looking Zombie Starbuck”. So yeah, that’s my theory. God thing wasn’t finished with her yet. Used its power to bring her back in a physical form until her destiny was completed. So while Angel 6 and Angel Baltar are walking around among us now, Ghost Starbuck has walked into the light.

Matt and Nat you guys were great from when i first started watching BSG Cast at the beginning of Season 4! Looking forward to Caprica and Capricast! Thank you for all the great videos you guys made every week! Any chance of a BSG Cast dvd?

So, maybe… the real Steve Perry was with us here a few weeks ago….I did ask if it was him….. So…. Helo, is that really you? AND…. here is a BIG question for @KarlAgathon. Since you shot Athena and got a new Athena from the baseship when she rescued Hera. Did you have more babies on Earth (milkyway address, our solar system)? Maybe Hera isn’t really Eve, she is one of the Eve’s? Anyone can respond… I’ll be checking in.
And a little tech note here. I am a hobby soapmaker. It is tough to make soap out of ashes and rendered fat. Humanities children are going to get pretty dirty. AND… Going from processed algae to a basically raw veggie/herbs diet and having to develop hunting skills might be a gastronomic nightmare. Grass skirts are going to be fun too. I remember the awful time Tom Hanks had catching a fish in Cast Away. Poor guy almost starved and his only friend was Spaulding!
The story isn’t quite finished, eh,

I’m giving you all a heads up here with a little discovery. I was looking around Amazon because I was going to do a price check on the “Battlestar Galactica: Role Playing Game” corebook (this is for the RPG, not the board game). As I was looking at the selections, I came across what appeared to be another type of “Battlestar Galactica” comic book series. But guess what, it’s not the typical one. Much like “Star Trek” before it, the RIS “Battlestar Galactica” is going Manga, and is being released by TokyoPop! I didn’t even know it existed. But the title of the comic series, from what I can tell, is called “Battlestar Galactica: Echos of New Caprica”. And one of the authors that is listed for the comic series is Richard Hatch (as we all know as Apollo from the original series and Tom Zarek from the new series). Anyways, the release date is listed for April 14, 2009. I figured I’d post it, give us something to read to kill the time between now and “The Plan” and “Caprica”. Here’s the link to Amazon if anyone is curious about it: http://www.amazon.com/Battlestar-Galactica-Manga-Echoes-Caprica/dp/1427815291/ref=sr_1_47?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1238476396&sr=8-47

Congrats, JJ.
I will miss the BSGCast… and at least I got one shoutout during the whole run.
So, I can bask in that glory.

My take on Kara Thrace:
Kara left because she was D.O.N.E…… done! I think Starbuck might have been a Skinjob, a one off in the production line, she completed her programming and Poof! She clearly didn’t know what/who she was. Sam wanted to tell her when he had the memory flood, but he didn’t know why she came back or what she was either. Leoben abandoned her too. What happened to that skinjob?
My other thought was…. ‘going native, no longer drinking ambrosia shooters, can’t shoot her gun (had to give it up, thanks Lee) and the last tube of toothpaste’ thing was the ‘tie breaker’. And her viper was on a FastPass to the sun with Ander’s and his perfect ending.
Kara was instrumental to the survival of a fugitive fleet of spaceships and the population aboard them. Was it going to happen without her? She’s Starbuck! (Not the other Starbuck, sorry Dirk) She knew the coordinates since she was a little girl. Kara just ended, period, no explanation. We knew Laura Roslin’s fate, her diagnosis was grimm. Bill Adama is going to build a cabin on the hill. Lee will spot the smoke column and find his way home, the crew is gonna be there too, our favorite characters, will gather be Merry on the holidays. Kind of like, Rendezvous at Bill’s Trading Post. The new Tribes will bargain and trade, you know. Survival story. Happy camping! Can’t you hear the Ballad of Gilligan’s Isle quietly in the backround?
This is of course all speculation and fantasy fiction. A fun forum to explore the what-ifs and what-nots. I wish BSG had gotten a Govt bailout package. Oh, Wrong country.
Thanks for the shout Matt.

So does anyone know the air date for “The Plan?”
April 1st, 2009 at 1:11 am
Matt and Nat,
Thank you so much for all you have done here at BSGcast.com and for the BSG community. I only wish I had discovered you guys earlier than Season 4. Better late than never.
I have seen you guys get better and more professional in your casts over the past year. You amaze me with your professionalism and with you generous and loving hearts. You are two great people and it was the greatest pleasure to have met you both in Pasadena.
Like, BSG, you inspire us to be the best we can be and you and your casts have enhanced my BSG experience greatly.
I thank you both from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done. Thanx so much for the Headphones which I wear every single day (I’m wearing them this very moment actually).
You’ll be pleased to know that the headphones are helping me make some great Battlestar Galactica fanvids that you can checkout at my YT account under username Adalla001.
In fact I have made a Tribute to the BSG Finale that I’ll be uploading as soon as YT is out of maintenance, and I’ve made it using the headphones
SO thank you and thanx Alienware!
I wish you the very best in your endeavors. I’ll of course be following all your work here and I’ll check out yourgeeknews also. I’m VERY excited about the upcoming JJ Abrams ST Movie, and I hope to see your coverage of it. Also I’m very excited about Caprica and Capricast, and I am very happy you guys decided to make casts for it.
We all love you very much!
Thank you, and may the Gods be with you!
So Say We All!

57th Cylon, you are completely correct. How about a week in the wild folks? Those colonists to New Earth would be dead in no time. Things get really mean without food, eating utensils, cooking implements, showers, soap, comforts, etc. It just smacks of a huge lack of realism to have ended things that way, and that will always drive me nuts. However, the dead bodies of your fellow colonists would be a source of food and fat for soap, if there was any fat left on them when they died! LOL
Kristy – I think The Plan will air in November, Caprica 2010.

Obama Depressed, Distant Since ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Series Finale
WASHINGTON—According to sources in the White House, President Barack Obama has been uncharacteristically distant and withdrawn ever since last month’s two-hour series finale of Battlestar Galactica.
“The president seems to be someplace else lately,” said one high-level official, speaking on condition of anonymity. “Yesterday we were all being briefed on the encroachment of Iranian drone planes into Iraq, when he just looked up from the table and blurted out, ‘What am I supposed to watch on Fridays at 10 p.m. now? Numb3rs?’”
“I haven’t seen him this upset since Admiral Adama realized that Earth was actually an uninhabitable wasteland,” the official continued. “Or at least that’s what he told me. I don’t actually watch the show. It’s not really my thing.”
Since the end of the series, Obama has reportedly brushed off key budgetary decisions, ignored his wife and children, and neglected his daily workouts, claiming that he no longer cares if he lets himself go “just like Lee did before the rescue on New Caprica.”
In addition, sources confirmed that instead of meeting with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Monday, the depressed president sat alone in the Oval Office, scouring Internet message boards for posts by other fans about the series conclusion.
Hoping to cheer himself up, Obama also decided to re-watch the extended director’s cut of “Unfinished Business,” a season three episode he once described as “bringing the Starbuck-Apollo relationship to a head in the best possible way.”
Revisiting the series, however, has only made the president more miserable. After a staffer suggested he bring DVDs of the show along on a recent policy trip to Denver, Obama reportedly muttered under his breath, “What’s the point? It’s over.”
“We were going over his schedule when he sighed and asked if I watched Battlestar,” said a White House secretary, whom Obama used to playfully call “Billy.” “I told him I was planning on it because my sister’s a big fan, but he just stared out the window the whole time.”
“I also noticed he took down his Battlestar Galactica season 4.5 poster,” she added.
Obama watched the finale just as he had every previous episode, alone in the White House screening room with the volume turned all the way up. Sources said he emerged exhilarated and told several aides that the show’s writers “wrapped things up the best they could, though the very end was a little much.”
The commander in chief also bragged that he “totally called” the fact that “All Along The Watch Tower” would be used as the jump coordinates for the FTL drive.
Despite his initial excitement, by Monday morning the absence of the hour-long Sci-Fi program had begun to affect the president.
“I’m a little concerned,” first lady Michelle Obama was overheard saying at a fundraising event Tuesday. “When Firefly was canceled, he walked around like a zombie for a week, and Serenity was the only thing that snapped him out of it. Last night he said he felt like he had just discovered David Axelrod was one of the Final Five, whatever that means.”
A devoted fan of the original 1978 Battlestar Galactica, Obama was initially hesitant to watch the new series, saying he was upset to learn that hotshot pilot Starbuck would be played by a woman. However, during a particularly slow week in the U.S. Senate, Obama decided to rent the first season from Netflix.
Aides said Obama “blew through” season one in a weekend, then purchased season 2.0 from a local Best Buy, and, in order to catch up in time for season three, downloaded the majority of season 2.5 from iTunes.
“When we spoke last month, he said season three was his least favorite because some of the episodes with Helo and the Sagittarons—and pretty much anything that involved Cally—were boring and didn’t advance the plot,” Afghan president Hamid Karzai said. “But I told him that when you watch it all on DVD, and you don’t have to wait a whole week for a new show, those peripheral episodes actually add new color to the already established world.”
Added Karzai, “Lately, though, it seems like he’d rather talk about the resurgence of Taliban warlords in Kandahar than the show.”
During an emergency press conference on Wednesday, Obama addressed his recent detachment, as well as various other matters facing the United States.
“Our nation finds itself in uncharted territory in the deep emptiness of space,” Obama announced. “The Old Girl has limited supplies, no allies, and now, no hope. I never said this would be an easy journey. Yet I promise you this: There is a place where there is no war and no economic turmoil. It is where, according to the Sacred Scrolls handed down to us by the Lords of Kobol, the thirteenth tribe traveled over three thousand years ago. That place is called Earth. Not the other Earth. This Earth. It’s complicated. Anyway, I plan to take us there.”
Added Obama, “So say we all! So say we all! So say we all!”

Re: the colony ship. I think Moore has said you DO get to see the end of the colony ship in the extended edition. Something like the nuking destabilizes its orbit around the black hole and that, of course, ends THAT.
Re: Tyrol/Tory. Made sense to me. He didn’t REALLY hate Cally. Everything was collapsing around him back in early season 4, as far as I was concerned. Yeah, Cally wasn’t the ONE for him, but… I bet you it was still something real. So suddenly finding out what happened under those conditions… well, I’d flip.
I only stumbled on bsgcast this year, but it’s been a great service!
Thanks guys!

Hey congrats JJ! Looking forward to the plan in the fall and Caprica.BSG and Caprica are the first shows to take place 150,000 years ago. In caprica we might get to see lucifer again!Hoping to anyway.

Something id love to see though is a terminator crossover with BSG. A terminator bsg crossover movie really shouldn’t be that hard to do. There both owned by universal for fraks sake. Like to see a movie were the centurions return and help the humans defeat skynet. Perhaps it could be a telemovie like razor or the plan instead of a theater release.. M+N if you guys know any contacts to get in touch with the producers of bsg or terminator you should pitch them the idea!

Tootie,
So funny! Thanks for that. I’ve been feeling pretty much the same way, so got a real chuckle out of it.
Sigh, guess I’ll have to venture out on Fridays now and become a social person…

Thats what we get for having a cylon as president. They dont know frak about economic problems. They just like to spend spend spend and waist all there resources until its too late.

Just relized. Every president has been a cylon!

One last thing. The constellations being the same as the ones on both Earths means there close. There could be a couple of solar systems that EarthMK1 could be in where the constellations could be similar. Epsilon Eridani which is 10 light years away and is thought an Earth like planet could be hiding in it.Or even alpha centuri which new evidence suggests that there could also be an earth like planet.

Sorry for so many posts in a row but I keep forgetting stuff and as soon as I remember something I have already posted something about another thing.
Anyway the whole God is nature thing could be a reference to the bible from the lines “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” and “I am that I am.”

Ok so this is my Starbuck theory. I know there are a billion out there and I may have already written this before. But I’m gonna do it again with a bit more detail. However like all the theories they are theories until they are proven or dis-proven. Either way there’s no harm in it. So here it goes.
- We know that the old earth is relatively near the new earth because we could see Orion’s belt when Kara found the cylon civil war battlefield in the Demetrius episodes.
- The constellations represent the gods.
- The Sun is at the center of the constellations, which could be interpreted as the head or king/queen of the gods.
- The king of the gods is Zeus or otherwise called Jupiter.
- When Kara when into the horizon which was dubbed the Eye of Jupiter by the pictures in the temple of 5, she said “See you on the other side.”
- When they had the battle at the cylon colony and Anders was communicating with the colony hybrids, for a moment we hear the female hybrids say “look through the eye to know thyself.”
- Then when they finally get to our earth and Kara says goodbye to Anders he manages to say “See you on the other side.” Like Kara did, just before he took the fleet into the sun, our sun. Which could very well be the new eye of Jupiter or maybe both are somehow connected through the black hole where the colony was or some other way.
- Now most of the way through the last season Kara has been on a quest to find out who and what she really is.
- Perhaps Jupiter is the horizon Kara went into in “Maelstrom.” and our Sun is the eye of that horizon or the eye of Jupiter.
- I think that when she disappeared she actually went into the sun which would actually be the eye of Jupiter. “Look through the eye to know thyself.” Our sun connecting the 12 colony part of the galaxy and our part of the galaxy.
-Kara never really figured out who she really was on a conscious level when she went into the horizon before the ionion nebula. Perhaps she would know who and what she is when she goes home. Back to the origin of the gods. The sun, and this would especially fit if she is indeed Aurora goddess of the dawn and new beginnings.
To sum up I think she went into the sun.
But I really hope we get to find out one way or the other in “The Plan” or “Caprica.”
April 1st, 2009 at 8:30 pm
Kristy the sun could also be a reference to the son of God(Jesus).
April 1st, 2009 at 8:53 pm
That was actually a misinterpretation over the centuries. Where Sun turned into Son etc…. Jesus or Zeus/Jupiter is the anthropomorphisation of the sun and the cycles thereof.

the constellations from the tomb of athena don’t match our constellations exactly
“The top row of pictures are actual Earth-based photographs of Pisces, Virgo, and Taurus, with the lines added of course. The next row is these constellations as they appear in the “sky” of the Tomb of Athena. Lines have been added, and the constellations have been rotated to match the Earth pictures, but otherwise these are screen captures from “Home part 2″. The final line has the corresponding monoliths, again screen captures from “Home part 2″.
There is not just one way to draw each constellation. Different sources connect different stars in different ways. If the Earth-based constellations above look odd to you, it’s because they are alternative representations sometimes used by astrologers.
As Adama indicated, the jewels on the monoliths match the constellations in the tomb. However, by your eye, do the constellations in the tomb match the constellations as viewed from Earth? (That is, does the first line match the second in the above image?) Note the numerous differences. Relative to Pisces the fish as seen from Earth today, Pisces in the tomb has a bigger head that is missing one of its brighter stars and the “V” shape at bottom is concave instead of convex. The tomb Pisces is missing a lot of stars in the body, but these are relatively dim stars. The tail is different, but it could be in part due to a choice of different stars. For Virgo the virgin, her “butt” (the bottom star) is sagging, her lower “knee” is less angled, and she is missing some fairly bright stars. With Taurus the bull, the star named Aldebaran, the eye of the bull, appears to be missing in the tomb version. (See the circles in the picture above.) Aldebaran is by far the brightest star in Taurus and one of the brightest stars in the night sky of Earth. Also, tomb Taurus’ “forehead” is much bigger and its upper horn is much shorter, but this could be due to a different choice of stars. And the tip of Taurus’ lower horn consists of the Pleiades, a cluster of bright stars that were quite important in Greek mythology, but in the tomb the tip of the bull’s horn appears as a single star.”
“The constellations in the tomb do not seem to match those of Earth today, 20000 AD, or any other time period.”

Hey what happened to deanna, where did she disappear to.
And why did old Cavlill shoot himself ?
and thank god they finally explained the opera house ending.
All in all i thought it was good ending but the ending was not great ending. Really wanted to see some more Viper action though.

Matt and Nat….Please do a review of the Terminator Salvation movie! You guys rock…Like a few others here I stumbled onto BSGcast about 3 months ago and Its a great place to geek-out on our favorite shows and movies.
Keep it up! Thanks.
April 3rd, 2009 at 10:53 am
Hey all, how’s your BSG withdrawal going?
I just realized something….I was totally right about Lee destroying the Galactica.
I mentioned before that Lee had a habit of damaging or destroying symbolic ships…his father’s viper, the Blackbird, Pegasus and was wondering if he was going to do any more damage this season. The only thing left was the Galactica. While he didn’t specifically say or give the command to destroy the ship, his rationale and persuasion of the Admiral to give up technology prompted the sending of the entire fleet into the sun. At least there’s no more tech on earth for him to mess with. lol.
Its been fun!
April 3rd, 2009 at 11:23 am
Bradj84 I believe that terminator can now also be considered a sequel to BSG.Along with .TOS Like ive mentioned before there both owned by universal Though there obviously not officially considered part of the same universe I think it should unofficially be considered part of it. BSG Cast should do a petition to have a bsg/terminator tele movie/miniseries or at the vary least a comic. Having terminator be bsgs future would also make angel sixs prediction that all of this wont happen again become false.Indeed it has happened before and it will happen again.
April 3rd, 2009 at 4:18 pm
Yeah totally, Im hoping for a comic. since that is usually where all the crossovers happen (AVP, Terminator vs Robocop, Freddy vs Jason vs Ash, etc) . The cover should be side by side of a centrurion (background of Caprica exploding) and a T-800 (background with LA exploding) with the bottom quote” All this has happened before, and it will hapen again…again…again…again..” lol
April 3rd, 2009 at 5:10 pm
Dont forget that old GI-Jo/transformers comic!
JJ I am going start out and try to and make that LA and Caprica cover myself with some good old photoshop editing. It wont be drawn but it will at least give us an idea what the cover should look like.
April 3rd, 2009 at 5:48 pm
Speaking of bsg/terminator. Another reason that they should be the same universe is that they both have skinjobs who think they are human but dont know there not. This bsg idea started in the sarah coner chronicles and now its in the new movie. But whats is ironic is that the machines would be killing there own kind, Since the humans are part machine.
April 4th, 2009 at 1:31 am
@ centurion005 Yea it could be considered a sequel in a sense. Though BSG holds its own with creativity. I do however think that the producers of T-Salvation have paid some attention to the BSG story arc. With the Marcus Wright plot in the new movie, it seems kinda Cylonish!
April 4th, 2009 at 2:49 am
The difference between the terminator universe and the cylon universe is that Skin jobs are flesh and blood through and through. Terminator skin jobs are only skin on the surface. You peel that skin back and it’s all metal. The T1000’s are only skin in appearance. They are actually liquid metal. And the combo version is still metal in some form. The skin jobs may or may not know what they are, and minus the birth, death and procreation and lack of love experience they are essentially the same as us. The terminator machines know exactly what they are and are completley enslaved to thier programming to the point where it’s almost impossible for them to counteract it.
I love the terminatorverse as much as the bsgverse but they are both very, very different. I think that I robot is closer than terminator in similarities to bsg.
April 4th, 2009 at 9:36 am
The cylon skinjobs in Battlestar Galactica could have been made a similar way as the liquid metal terminators. Though instead of the liquid metal it could be that bio mechanical slime that formed and copied every cell in the human body. Thats why the cylons always form from those resurrection tanks. Like the liquid metal terminators the cylons are grown in tanks using a base mold. The concept is the same both ways.
April 4th, 2009 at 11:02 am
Last post for now. I think ron moore might have also borrowed from T3. Didnt T3 com out before the BSG miniseries? The following is part of the ending narration of john conner.
Judgment Day, the day the human race was almost destroyed by the weapons they’d built to protect themselves. I should have realized it was never our destiny to stop Judgment Day, it was merely to survive it, together. The Terminator knew; he tried to tell us, but I didn’t want to hear it. Maybe the future has been written. I don’t know; all I know is what the Terminator taught me; never stop fighting. And I never will. The battle has just begun.
Doesnt that sound suspiciously familiar?
April 4th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
Good cast! Sorry I was too busy ranting about the last episode, but I really do love this community, and I’m looking forward to more casts for other things!
Hopefully “The Plan” will explain some things, but I highly doubt it. I think we’ve got all the answeres we’re going to get.
Good thing I’m writing my own in!
April 4th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
Oh, and congratz JJ! One lucky dude!
April 5th, 2009 at 2:50 pm
Just rewatched the mini-series. The reason why Boomers jump did so much damage to Galactica was because that is the exact spot where the ship was hit with a nuke in the beginning. It was heavily damaged there at the start. Hence when the ship jumped away from the colony, it did nothing because the structural integrity of that area was intact. Just fishing for something BSG to do
April 5th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
Hey I thought a lot of you here might think this is interesting. Its the layout of the colony with a size comparison to the galactica. This was done by darthmojo who is one of the cgi artists who worked on the show and now caprica. Would love to see how this thing is compared with the size of the death star!

April 5th, 2009 at 7:10 pm
@JJ- I’ve been handling it the best I can. Been drinking green Powerade, since it was used as Ambrosia on the show. Still trying to get my machinima comic book fan fiction series off the ground. Thinking about working on a paper model of the Galactica. Also toying around with an idea with a couple of users over at BSGPilots to set up an unofficial project called “Operation: Rewatch”, in which each Friday, we would rewatch each episode of BSG from the beginning each Friday to fill in the time between now and the showings of “The Plan” and “Caprica”. Don’t know if anything will come of it, but it should be something applied to all BSG fans if it does.
April 5th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
In addition to above: Also, I am considering on doing some BSG-inspired props, as well as doing a prop replica of the binder seen in the show. I actually picked up a pencil box from a K-Mart that’s closing down for about a $1 and have toyed around with the idea of making it the case that holds refill cartridges for anti-radiation kits (My mentality for the case is that for the smaller kits we see used by Helo and Starbuck on the show, that when they get back, they reuse the same casing that the pilots are given, but replace the needles and refill the cartridges if any are used) or maybe a civilian first aid kit (hey, just because we see the massive box that the military uses for their med kit doesn’t mean that’s what was sold at a civilian store, but would retain some of the same vital stuff, such as bandages, a small injection of Morpha, an injection of anti-radiation meds {though it would seem odd} and antiseptic). Of course, I still don’t know if I’ll do anything or not. But if I do, I will.
April 5th, 2009 at 7:31 pm
Ambrosia is Gatorade not powerade. I hate powerade. Yuck.
April 5th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
@ centurion005- I apologize in advance for this, but Ambrosia is, in fact, Powerade. First off, I’ve lived in Florida all my life. We Floridans happen to know the difference between Powerade and Gatorade. And with the green color and the cloudiness of the liquid seen in the show, I can assure you, that Gatorade is not like that. Gatorade is not that dark when it comes to the green colored liquids and is clear, not cloudy. Powerade is.
Second of all, if you rewatch the David Eick blog, “Things You’d Find on the Set” and watch the part with the liquids cart girl, though she says “Gatorade”, if you look closely at the bottle she picks up, it has a Powerade label on it. Don’t believe me? Here’s proof (you can see the part of the logo and part of the word “Powerade” on there: http://s134.photobucket.com/albums/q94/codebreaker2001/?action=view¤t=ProofofPowerAde2.jpg
And if you compare the label design of the bottle with this one (though the one in this picture is red), you can see that it is, in fact, Powerade: http://www.utc.edu/Administration/McKenzieArena/Resources/Images/lg_powerade.jpg
April 6th, 2009 at 1:07 pm
I apologize if there is a double post on the same topic. It’s just the original reply I submitted had two links and it hasn’t been approved yet. So, I’ll re-respond with one link.
@ centurion005- Actually, it is Powerade. First off, I live in Florida. Gatorade was developed at the University of Florida. So, we know the difference between Gatorade and Powerade. Second, though the girl says “Gatorade” in the “Things you’d find on the set” video, you can see in the video that the bottle she holds up is a Powerade bottle. Don’t believe me, look at this picture (you can see the label design matches Powerade bottles and you can see the letters “P” and “O”, which are two letters in the word “Powerade”): http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q94/codebreaker2001/ProofofPowerAde2.jpg
April 6th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
My bad. Somehow before though I always thought it might have been mountain dew.:)
April 6th, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Also why are you making such a big deal over powerade or gatorade? They probably use both anyway.
April 6th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
@ centurion005 – I’m not making a deal out of the whole thing (if I did I would have used a lot of profanity and boast at the fact that I’m right and you’re wrong. I’m not like that. I’ve been rather laid back throughout the whole thing). I’m just saying I know the difference between the two. I can’t help the fact that I noticed it was the bottle was Powerade. I’m the guy who notices small details. Sorry if I at all came off as rude or anything like that, it was not my intention, I assure you.
Just a little test I did for my machinima comic book fan fiction series to see if it was possible to greenscreen Sims into live action shots and make it appear seamless as possible:http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q94/codebreaker2001/BSGBTR/GreenTest3C.jpg
April 6th, 2009 at 5:23 pm
Hey CB thats pretty good. Im looking for a pic of the last scene from terminator where they show nukes going of all over the planet.Similar to the one they showed of caprica being nuked in BSG. Ive found plenty of caprica getting nuked but no shots of earth being annihilated from t3.I want to make a comic cover with caprica being nuked on the left and a mirror image of earth being nuked on the right. It doesnt matter what side the earth nuke pic is facing because I can just flip it.If someone can post a link to a rather good quality image it would really help. Oh and i have searched google to no avail.
April 6th, 2009 at 9:45 pm
@ centurion005- Thanks. I’ve been trying out filters to see if the machinima comic book fan fiction series should be done that way or not, and from the favorable reviews of this particular test shot, I may go with it primarily because it will allow me to use live action screenshots and possibly still frames I may be to take myself.
Well, I don’t have T3 in my collection, so I can’t really make any screencaps of it. The only copy that I had access to is at my parents house, which is a four hour drive to. And the next time I’m going up there is for Spring Break. The best option I can suggest is trying to find a copy of the ending of the film on YouTube, and try to get a screencap of it or maybe rent it from a nearby video store (or borrow it from a friend if you happen to know one who has it).
April 7th, 2009 at 10:58 pm
BTW, I have a question for all you guys I’m looking to ask. I was wondering, alternate realities: possible in the BSG universe or typical Sci-Fi that would never turn up in BSG, even if Moore decided to do so at the last minute? I’m asking because Ron Moore pretty much used the idea I had for the ending of my machinima comic book fan fiction series, and I’m considering it in order to keep what I had in mind for my ending of the comic series.
April 7th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
I don’t know if anyone here has seen this yet, but someone in the Lego fan community has made some pretty cool figures/sculptures of some major BSG characters (including a really well-constructed centurion):
http://www.mocpages.com/folder.php/40788
These are so cool, I had to post again. Enjoy!
April 8th, 2009 at 12:56 am
@ Unitron- Nice find, dude.
I agree, that Centurion is way too frakkin’ cool.
April 8th, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I was just watching the “you will know the truth” clues again to make sure I could place them all, and I couldn’t. What was will the tolling bells in one of the audio files?
April 8th, 2009 at 4:53 pm
You mean the church bells? It could have been a church in new york. Mabey a refernce to the Angels. In fact an ending I would have loved to see is the baltar and six angel walking out of a church after a sermon about God’s angels watching out for us and saying that there right.

To anyone of interest. Knighthawkdc and CB2001 (aka Codebreaker2001) will be hosting an unofficial and informal gathering for rewatching episodes of “Battlestar Galactica”. The name of the viewing/chat will be called “Operation: Rewatch”. Now, when we mean unofficial, we mean that that site that the chat will be hosted at, BSGPilots, will be where the chat is but is not an official BSGPilots project (an official rewatch by BSGPilots may come some time later, but the chat that we’ll be doing is no official). If you’re not already a registered user at BSGPilots, that’s okay, the registration is free.
Also, there are a couple of points of order that you should be aware of when it comes to the rewatch. Here are the points:
Point 1 – Project: Rewatch will begin on April 30. Since we are starting off with the first mini-series, the start time for the viewing of the mini-series at 8 o’clock pm, EST (Eastern Standard Time). For regular episode rewatches, it will be Thursdays at 9 pm EST.
Point 2- Newbies to BSG in general are welcomed, however, you should be aware that the chats may contain major spoilers to events in the series that appear later on. So, I stress heavily: If you DO NOT want to be spoiled to what is to come, DO NOT come into the chat.
Point 3- When it comes to the order of the show for Operation: Rewatch”, for Season 2, we’re going to change it up a bit by including the TV-movie “Razor” as a part of the Season 2 viewing setup. Which means, that after “Captain’s Hand”, we will then watch “Razor” before moving on to “Downloaded”, seeing that “Razor” takes place in between the two.
Point 4: We will be watching the unrated/extended versions of episodes presented. So, when it comes to Season 2’s “Pegasus”, we will be watching the extended version. For “Razor”, we will be watching the Unrated Extended version. And for Season 3’s “Unfinished Business”, we will also be watching the Ron Moore extended cut.

If Head 6 were an angel, or Seraph, why would she be having sex with Baltar? No, Head 6 IS Caprica, with intimate knowledge of the future, and intimate knowledge and love for Baltar. She works for the Cylon god, a Strossian “Eschaton” level intelligence. Same for Head Baltar and quite possibly Kara as well.

Just wanted to let you guys know how much I miss BSG Cast. You really don’t realize how much you miss something until it isn’t there every week…like BSG, but also BSG Cast. Srsly. I really can not wait until CapriCast starts up with Caprica.
Anyway, there was a reason to this post besides me declaring my love for the two of you (lol), it was to ask the question if you all are going to be at DragonCon. Being from TCF and this being my first con…and probably my last…I was curious.
April 16th, 2009 at 2:55 am
@ Scanner- When it comes to “Operation: Rewatch”, it’s more like an online version of a frak party. We’ll be meeting at BSGPilots, using the chat room until an official rewatch project is done by Adalla and A-Dog. I myself have been doing rewatches of the show so far, I’ve gotten past “Act of Contrition” in Season 1, but I will be restarting it for both “Project: Rewatch” and the official BSGPilot’s rewatch (whenever that will be).
April 16th, 2009 at 5:11 pm
Hay Mat & Nat, just after watching the pilot of Caprica & my first impression is that its good not gr8 but good. I won’t say anything about the plot because I don’t want to ruin it for any1 but it dose drag a bit at times a lot of talking where not much happens, I know there just introducing cast so I can understand that. Caprica just didn’t hock me from the beginning like BSG did. but to compare this to BSG would be unfair as it just so different to it. But all that said the last half hour is fantastic & will have you hocked & the very last sense will make you wanting to come back for more & see wants going to happen next, which is you can as for really.
I can’t to hear your thoughts on it Mat & Nat looking eagerly forward for CapricaCast.
Plus if any else has seen it what do you thing?
