CapriCast: Toronto Comic Con Panel
On the eve of the first mid-season finale of Caprica, actresses Luciana Carro and Magda Apanowicz paid Toronto Comic Con a visit and treated us to a panel that gave us some insight into their experience making the show, and dropped some hints about what we can expect from the back-9 episodes of the season!

The prognostication is:
Show opens up one year later with Danial broke. Vergis cylons rolling off the assembly line. The dead lab techs from Vergis corp were actually killed by the Vergis cylon prototype. Danial’s wife is in a coma. Greystone unleashes avatars in V-world to hack into Vergis cylons and cause him to lose the contract.
I would tell you more but the producers are already sending me Taurin death ritual study guides.

I am seriously afraid that Caprica won’t be picked up for a second season, which would be so sad because it’s the best written show on television right now. That’s not a prognostication because I would hate to win over that coming true.

I see Lacy being forced into doing some more dark terrorist things before she finds a way to get out of Barnubus’ web. She may end up having to confront him and kill him, or even plot his death secretly so she can get off scott free from the STO. She may have to give in and ask for help from Clarice.

Hi All,
So my prediction for the next episodes are as follows:
Well since we heard Clarice causing the uprising of the cylons, which I would not think would happen so soon; but I guess it does. Thus more time on Geminon, and war w/Barnabas. Lacy will have to woman up, choose a side, and I believe she will become a power player, much like Zoe is, but no one knows about it. I think she will be smack in the middle of this battle, but remember she has Zoe, which is ultimately where her loyalty lies, so that will be interesting.
Daniel is still wealthy, but a broken man. It would be pretty hard for him to go broke, remember he’s Microsoft rich. Vergis will not be able to make those robots work w/out the avatar. The Adama’s, Tamara, and the Ha’la’tha are going to start taking center stage, and probably why we will see more of Tauron. We see Tamara doing some serious moves in the previews, so she will be fighting for something. I want her and Zoe to meet really badly! I strongly believe Evelyn was being paid by the Ha’la’tha, which is why we see her so tight w/Sam.
Naturally more of Sam w/no shirt on, is welcome. Plus, there is no way Vergis is getting those chips to work, without putting more “Zoe’s” in them, because that is where the idea of apotheosis and the soul comes in. I think Clarice will realize that the afterlife is the cylon body w/the soul within, thus the uprising. Don’t forget Zoe’s words: Zoe says she’s trapped in a robot body, and only her bff knows she’s in there, and we know she can clock out into v-world; which is where I believe she went at the end of the recent epi. I really, really hope that we don’t lose that imagery of her in the cylon body, and us seeing her; I thought that was the genius part of this show. I also love that character! She and Daniel are my faves so far.
Clarice has been looking for the Zoe avatar, which we now know is more than that, and we have our wildcard; Tamara. She’s the game changer; much like Starbuck was in BSG. I believe that it will be the evolution of the soul in the cylon bodies; as I wrote about this in a previous post, but these episodes will entail the following:
I do not think Amanda is dead, but instead she’s taken by Clarice, who thinks she is special because she sees dead people and that she’s the mother of Zoe. She may also become a pawn between the battle that takes place between Barnabus and Clarice (more Clarice getting down and dirty yeah!) Daniel will be a ruined man emotionally; Amanda will have disappeared, his life’s work is gone, and the real kicker, he finally has to accept that he lost Zoe on that train. So Daniel and Joe will be in the exact same place again; w/out their daughters. But knowing the Daniel we have seen so far, he will have lost the robot, but he knows for a fact she’s in there, and I bet he will go into v-world to try to find her. I am hoping he will not be stupid enough to put a hit out on Vergis, thus his desire to ask for Joe’s help.
Remember in just 9 years, the first war will begin, and this is going to have 5 seasons?
On another note, I was watching Resurrection 2 the other night, and seeing Adama interact w/Admiral Cain, now knowing he is Tauron, fascinates me. I hope they age Willy, as I want to see the Joe, we hear that Lee is so similar too, and how much Sam influenced his character development.

We already have a V-World on Earth. It’s called SecondLife. In fact, we’ve got MULTIPLE V-Worlds on Earth, including the servers for “Garry’s Mod” and many MMORPGs, including “World of Warcraft.”
Why am I the only one who sees that?

I’m better predicting things while watching the episodes, tend to notice small details that lead to possible predictions (as I did with the Emmanuelle/Evelyn detail).
Predictions:
Amanda Graystone ends up being in a coma, forcing Daniel to give up the C-Bucks for not just the U-87 project, but to pay for the medical bills. He ends up slowly losing his grip on things in the process to the point that he’s poor enough to keep his company, but not enough to keep his house.
The Zoey’s U-87 is repaired from the damage it sustained during the wreck. Unfortunately, the U-87 is now in the hands of Virgis and Graystone doesn’t know that it was recovered from the wreck (being told that it was destroyed during the crash). Virgis discovers the problem with his chip and ends up making the copies of the chip the way that Graystone had insisted on doing in “End of Line” and using the U-87 blueprints from Graystone. As a result, the Zoey-A.I. soon discovers her father is the lesser of two evils and escapes, heading back to her family’s home, only to find it empty and a For Sale sign in front of it.
Sister Clarice goes on a warpath against Barnabus, only to discover that he is the leader of the Soldiers of the One that she had been talking to the whole time. As a result, she murders Barnabus in a Caesar-style murder with the aide of her “husbands” and “wives” and takes up the mantle of the new leader of the STO.
Lacey ends up getting it on with Gatwick, but then discovers that he built the bomb that killed Zoey and everyone else on the Mag-Lev. She begins to doubt her involvement with the STO, and begins to wonder why she hasn’t seen Zoey in the V-Club for a long period of time.
Joseph and Evelyn eventually become closer. She reveals to him that she was Emmanuelle and he begs her to find out about Tamara’s A.I. in NCC, to see if she may still be alive. She refuses, telling him to just let it go. She continues to swing by, seeing Joseph and little Billy.

Only thought I have at this time is that Ben Stark’s name was spelled wrong on purpose, and the police lady is the one who warned Clarice. Other than that, I got nothing. Can’t really tell where the show is going.

It’s amazing how far 3D Movies have come in the last few years. If you guys remember Spiderman from early 2000, and look at movies like Avatar, made now, you’ll realize what I’m referring to. We’ve just come so far, as long as the Movie is well funded. I can’t wait to see DC’s new Batman 3 coming out 2012.

Just a quick check on things….
Did anyone mention that since Tamara is an Adama and now she is in V world plus V world is where the avatars for cylons can be made then doesn’t Leobin’s “Adama is a cylon” ring true. So, who of the seven cylons was Tamara the basis for? I bet it is Boomer, who ironically William Adama called daughter when she is likely his sisters descendent. This would explain the “lost little girl” parts of Boomer as well as the “cold cylon” parts.

I know this comment is terribly out of topic, but I just watched the BSG mini-series again, and I noticed the lyrics of All Along The Watchtower showing up in creepishly weird moments. I’m going through Caprica now to see if any lyrics of All Along The Watchtower show up there too.

And I am really happy, not because its more stuff on “Caprica,” but because I spotted another familiar face in the trailer. Now, the actress I spotted hasn’t done any BSG related stuff, but I know of her work. The nun that Clarice talks to in the trailer so happens to be Meg Tilly, the actress who has performed in “The Big Chill”, “Psycho II” and, ironically also as a nun, “Agnes of God.” (which, if I recall correctly, she won an Academy Award for her performance). It’s been since 1995 since she last appeared in anything and became an author. She’s also known for being the older sister of Jennifer Tilly. And, even more ironic, the last theatrical film she was in, called “Sleep with Me” (1994), she co-starred with Eric Stoltz, who is currently playing Daniel Graystone.

Hey, you guys need to get out there and find out what this new BSG spin off is gonna be like. Wikipedia says it’s called BSG: Blood and Chrome and that it’s gonna be just webisodes. I’m looking forward to it since Caprica turned out to be such a bust. I’m sorry, i know you guys seem to like it, but I’ve never been a fan of soap operas.
