The show after Caprica airs on Space Channel (Canada) called 'Innerspace' is very good - and always was for BSG too. The lads as I call them (hosts Teddy and AJ) talked about how the conversation between Amanda and Sam in the taxi about his tattoos reflected the Tauron/Caprican difference in culture. Sam was saying that the marks on his skin are his history, his traditions, and Amanda was all "I can put on your skin whatever you want it to say, I can revise your history and lie about it." I didn't really see the significance until they pointed that out. Caprica is all about progress, make it up as you go. Tauron is the opposite.
I liked Amanda for the first time. I liked the way she just innocently went along with this guy and let him drive her home. I liked the way she tried to grieve with him in the taxi and offer to change his tattoos if he wanted.
I really liked the TV show scene - it was brilliantly done and totally believable. Daniel saying he will no longer profit from Holoband technology was awesome to restore his credibility - to align how he he views them (morally questionable) with not profiting by them. But I do agree that they could have easily said 'her boyfriend influenced her, end of story.' The boyfriend angle is huge - and was ignored by Kat's character, which is silly.
I think Amanda thinking the worst of Zoe (that she did the bombing) is completely consistent. She, for the most part, hated and resented Zoe from the start. Still does. Doesn't really want Daniel grieving her. Will frak him, will convince him Zoe did the bombing, to prevent him from staying close to Zoe. She didn't like the avatar talk.
I like their marriage however - they aren't perfect, and piss each other off, but they really do love each other.

Overall, some great tension, suspense and character development in this episode, setting up some cool plot to come with Tamara's avatar and the trip to Gemanon. Although I could connect with one character somewhat (Amanda), I still don't have a connection to anyone else or care what they want or if they get it. I want Clarice killed off -she's incredibly annoying.
Where is Amanda going to go as a character? She needs to find a new job...it would be logical to see her trying to find out more about Zoe's life, and also she will find out about the Zoe avatar (and meet her). THAT should be interesting.

"Gravedancing" was Great! tonight

I was hoping everyone was on tonight to see their take on another great episode.

I have to admit I laughed watching Zoe Cylon Dance with the tech. We may have learned who came up with the chest plate and maybe the body plating for the Centurions, or maybe the design? I digged the throw back to the original Battlestar “the colonial anthem” was a nice touch and the Dance music seemed almost like a dance mix of the Caprica Theme.

Daniels secret is out and all of the worlds now know that he made a Zoe Avatar. You almost see a giant weight lift off Daniels shoulders. Sister Clarice finally gets the news that she was waiting for knowing Zoe is still out there.

There might be a mole at the Global Defence. My money is on the woman partner. She allowed Zoe’s boyfriend (sorry can’t remember his name) to walk after he was arrested.

We also see that the Tauron’s all have a mutual understanding between one and another. Very interesting.

Oh! I forgot Williams Grandma. Boy! I wouldn’t want to mess with her.. She is one scary Grandma....

Next weeks trailer looks like we finally see what Tamara is up to in the virtual world? Maybe we get to see how she fits into the big picture or “Plan”

I really miss the opening credit 'spoilers' that BSG had, it was my favourite bit. I know most people didn't like them because it gave away what was going to happen in the espiode but they didn't for me. They were so fast I was just like "what just exploded" or "who just got punched in the face" and that made it more exciting for me. Please let Caprica bring that back.

I remember that Caprica was always advertised as being a story of two familes at war and killing Amanda Greystone would definitely start a war, so I say do it, lets kill her off. Yeah.

I am starting to like Zoe more each episode. I heard one of may friends say after watching the pilot, that it should have been called Battlestar 90210 and that's exactly how I felt too. It was definitely lacking those ADULT kick-ass characters such starbuck, apollo, helo and athena etc.

I hate to be crude but wasn't one of the great things about BSG that there was at least one character for everyone who you would like to see with no clothes on, for boys and girls alike and as of yet I don't feel Caprica has any of those

This may seem a bit off topic; but I got to thinking about the song that Dr. Graystone is working on composing. Something that we see him working on while dealing with the grief of losing his daughter both literally as well as in the cyber-world.

And then later on I was listening to Gaeta's lament. Something that we see him singing when he is lost and in pain and confused (so most likely not something that the character of Gaeta composed, more likely a song that that resonated with him somehow as a representation of loss and confusion as well as the searching for the right answers)

Alone she sleeps in the shirt of man
(could represent the presence of Zoe within the Cylon shell created by her father)
With my three wishes clutched in her hand
( the wishes that all parents have for their children, plus the uncertainty of knowing the future)
The first that she be spared the pain That comes from a dark and laughing rain
( that Dr. Graystone hopes that Zoe's memory isn't going to be forever slandered because of the association with the terrorist act)
When she finds love may it always stay true
(Zoe was looking for the love of her 'one true god')
This I beg for the second wish I made too
    But wish no more
    My life you can take
(insert obvious parental grief about wishing they could take their child's place in death)
To have her please just one day wake
To have her please just one day wake
(his hopes for the virtual Avatar to reawaken the soul of his daughter)

I dunno; just a thought that occurred to me today.

I'm supprised there isnt more chatter about the wireless VR. Cap Six made it clear that projection was central to Cylon psychology. The ramifications for Zoe creating projection and it being central to all Cylon thinking kind of got glossed over.

I think the one possible, and diabolical result of Zoe's use of the VR is her Dad discovering it and using the network to populate all of his other Cylon bodies.

@CB - A cameo by Stephan Hawkins would be incredibly fun! He did it for Star Trek tng, maybe here? The laying of the keel of Galactica, which would have been the ultimate weapon of her day, would be cool to watch.

And, with everything else you said, I agree wholeheartedly - straight across the board!!!

(Oh, wait... Can I still say straight? ;D )

Shauna- Honestly, I predict we will either see the "birth" of the Galactica or at least see young Bill Adama being assigned to Galactica as the final. So, we may see get to see the old girl again. :)

Kristy- That would be somewhat interesting character detail. I'm a straight guy and I honestly would prefer to see more of a diversity in characters like we saw in the previous series. As long as they pull a reveal in the same way as "The Crying Game", I think having such a character would expand the diversity of the types of characters we've already seen.

Honestly, I'm hoping we can also see other kinds of people involved, not just in relation to genders. There's potential to see more handicapped characters (we saw one person aboard Galactica that had a prosthetic arm, and then we saw Gaeta with a prosthetic leg), as we've heard Graystone talk about people who live with prosthetic limbs. And why not a character that's has high-functioning autism like Temple Grandin or a Stephen Hawkins-like character with ALS?
