Yeah, great review you guys - but Ben Stark wouldn't have an avatar. The only reason Zoe and Tamara have one is because they were specially-created as separate entities from the regular avatars that would appear if the girls were just wearing holobands. Ben wasn't wearing his holoband when he died, nor did he have a separate avatar made of him. So there's no reason to expect that there's a Ben Stark still in V-world.

And while I agree that the Sister Clarisse storyline has been slow-going, I disagree with your feelings about Lacy! I love her character, and am looking forward to seeing how she evolves. She's the heart of the show in so many ways.

Ok my friend and I watched this episode together and he and I came up with an awesome theory. Right before Tamara kills the underground chief blond lady, she says, "I'm free" So here's our theory, what if somehow in the series Daniel Graystone combines Zoe's avatar and Tamara's avatar and from there he makes clones of the hybrid avatar and that's who all the future cylons are. Here's why: Zoes avatar explains the Cylons dedication to one god, and Tamaras avatar explains in season 4 of BSG when the Cylons were given free will, why they went beserk and killed a bunch of skin-jobs (like Tamara going beserk and killing a bunch of people in the V-world). Also, I watched the pilot episode of Caprica last week and I don't remember any reference to Ben Stark having an avatar, I thought Zoe was the only one with one, then Daniel created Tamara, so there's only two at this point. Oh and I stopped watching previews for any tv show after BSG ended, because the previews for me ruined the last 4 or so episodes of BSG, because I watched the preview and was expecting one kind of episode, then got a completely different one. So simple solution, everyone stop watching previews, they ruin episodes and give you a different impression of them.

I loved Tamara in New Cap City. That moment where she get Heracles to duck-down behind her to shield him from the bullets recalled the moment Caprica Six protects Gaius Baltar from the shattering glass in his house during the Cylon attack. Nice bit of fore-shadowing I think. A sure sign we're meant to read Tamara as the precursor to the Cylons.

Mat & Nat didn't mention it in their review, and I don't see any mention of it in the comments, but one of my favourite parts of the episode was what I took to be an early Battlestar and Vipers that attacked Tamara and the other kid when they were on the balcony in New Cap City (I agree with Matt about the name ...).

That did a lot to address the lack of spaceship battles which Caprica's been suffering from so far ;)

Hi All,
I loved this epi, and if BSG fans were hesitant, now is the time to begin watching. Oh, and can I say again how hot Sam is? Plus, he's always taking that shirt off too--mmm.

I also wanted to comment on the lack of accolades for BSG--Jamie Bamber, Katie Sackhoff, dad and mom adama, Tigh? ROBBED!! Especially Jamie and Katie, they had so many scenes where they did not even speak together and apart, and you knew exactly what was going on. Well, I'm not even going to single them out; even Ellen, OMG. Boomer, when she shoots Adama, snaps back into Boomer and starts screaming because she has no idea what she has done, and that she's done it. So important--that moment was pivotal to how the feelings of the 5, and those who were trying to understand Kara's rebirth so to speak, Lee asking his father "If Zak had gotten off that ship would you have cared?"and Anders: "What if I lose it and turn on my own?". It defined the human/cylon relationship discussed on the show, and what is it to be human? Regular TV is simpler, and often if you're pretty and cute, and have a decent storyline you'll get an award; thus taking it away from the greats.

Okay back on topic: So sorry, anyway this show had several key and amazing moments:
Joe getting his ass kicked back into shape by his brother; because he is no longer "seeing" Willie.
It was sad and wonderful to see how finally Joe was able to grieve with Willie during that ceremony. He hadn't done it yet, I don't think Daniel had either until after he went on that TV show.
We even see Joe smiling and laughing as if the acceptance had lifted this burden, until Tamara's soon to be boyfriend (you know he's going to fall in love w/a dead girl), ruins the whole thing.

The Graystones:
They have a great relationship, a wonderful one and they really love each other. In fact their relationship as a couple, is the only healthy one we have seen in these series. The unhealthy part: they were unable to understand their daughter. Daniel adored her, as as Joe did Tamara, they were both Daddy's girls, but he couldn't even understand what was happening in VR world, so he was not seeing her either. Amanda; was crushed she did not know her daughter, because all they did was fight, and about the wrong thing--her being too spoiled. In fact she probably will never understand and is accepting the fact she did not know her daughter at all. But I think that it was Zoey in her brilliance who saw that her parents did not get her, and maybe would never,so she went to a place where she would be understood and be part of a "family". She was older than she seemed, and definitely special.

The beginning of the end: when Daniel walks into that meeting w/Zoe/cylon. She is looking at him adoringly, like a little girl worshipping her Daddy, so proud, she was even dressed like one: pale blue puffy sleeves, pintucked dress--nothing like what she wore for the dance. I like how she changes that way, it shows how she's there, and in VR because she can make those changes.

I do not think the Zoe we saw actually ripped off her arm--essentially she controls the cylon--I'm not sure if she hides it when she's w/her Dad or she's actually being controlled. I thought she made the robot rip off its' arm. Thus the question of the soul comes up again, and we know, no other cylon can do what this one can because ZOE is in it w/that chip he got Joe to steal for him via Sam's killing that guy. We see her making adjustments so she and Lacy can meet, we see her in her room, and we saw her make a phone call. Whomever figures out how to make those cylons do it w/out a Zoe, or maybe somehow she does it; doomed humanity.

I was heartbroken when I saw Daniel stand by that window, looking at that gorgeous view, talking about creating another race that would do whatever they wanted them to do. He proved it by Zoe doing as he wanted; but what if she had fully absorbed what was happening, instead of looking adoringly at her dad? What we do know, is that was the moment the end had begun, and it was at that second, all the suffering and pain we saw on BSG, came to pass.

Tamara--no longer a scared little girl. She can get shot and heal--kinda like downloading. I didn't see her control VR world, I have to watch again. But she is a smart cookie, as she knows not dying makes her Queen Bee of VR world, but she still wants to see her Dad. My two fave moments were when the blonde chick who said she could get her to the outside world, told her that she could not help her, because she was DEAD. Tamara shoots them all in response, finally realizing who she is--and when that gangster woman says to her "what are you" and she says "Awake" and shoots her again--that said it all. I said this on my LJ, but the sexy swagger at the end, reminded me of none other than our favorite Head 6, swaggering around in the red dress.

I really, really, hope we see Lacy more in VR w/Zoey, Tamara and co.. Plus I really want someone to show us how Polly Walker went all Soldier of the One, decided to recruit at school, and breed a suicide bomber. Something or someone must have made her turn from the gods,to the One True God. She'll never get what she wants out of Lacy, as she is becoming stronger through her ship w/the "new" Zoe. So that storyline needs to change.

Sorry for so much, but after last week, I am in love w/this show! I'm excited as I loved BSG even if the finale was disappointing, it was some of the best TV that I have ever watched.

V-world story also didn't remind of Matrix, but of "Labyrinth of Reflections", a book by Sergey Lukyanenko (that probably nobody but me knows :) )

This episode was much better than the last three, I think we might be seeing how the end was near..... did any inspect for me laughed little when David Graystone did that speech about the how the cylons be slaves and they well do anything we want them to do....I be laughing if some said to David Graystone "I told you so."

V-Tamara story line was great some reason it didn't remind me of the matrix (1999-2003) but more like the film the dark city, (1998) and some reason I can see V-Tamara becoming the goddess of V-world but I agree with Tiberius1111 that when she her avatar is *eventually* downloaded into a cylon body, I would expect her hatred for humanity to be well ingrained. She could be the cylon in which started the first war and the grandmother of John Cavil (Number One).

@Tiberius1111 I don't think Leoben knew V-Tamara (or C-Tamara) ? or but it was a way to create un-trust between Adama and Roslin

Thank you Tiberius1111 :)
Now I remember that. That would make sense now with the Tamara storyline.
